I don't know why it would be relevant today, but there was a section on the "cultural revolution" and its failures in my daughter's 10th grade World History book. Growing up in the sixties and seventies we knew all about it, first hand. Since it was an attack by on "intellectuals", professors, teachers, and free-thinkers by the most repressive conservatives in the Chinese communist party I kind of compare it to the Republican's less successful( thank God) attacks on science and public education today.

CIC Lincoln started the movement to bring equality to those who were cruelly enslaved; it was brought to fruition by JFK and LBJ. It was improved by CICs Carter, Clinton, and Obama. We must now include all other peoples.
All of these folks need good healthcare and protection from those who would take away the rights of women, gays, depressed Pubs. etc. May the Almighty bless us all, not just a few filthy rich dudes.
