Why do we keep missing on 5* RB’s?

We’ve proven we are the best college program in the nation. What are we missing that stops these players from choosing us?

Signing a three star RB before the 5 star RB’s sign. Ealy was a clear Clemson lock until Dukes signed.

That’s the truth. But.... baseball may mess with his concentration on football. Could be a blessing in disguise.

LOL so you want us to believe a 5-star RB is scared of competition from a 3-star? LOL you had me going there for a minute. Simply put, ole #### did some behind the scenes work.

But McBean was quite wrong. I’m quite happy to say. That the Sneetches got really quite smart on that day. The day they decided that Sneetches are Sneetches. And no kind of Sneetch is the best on the beaches. That day, all the Sneetches forgot about stars and whether They had five, or not, upon thars. -Dr. Seuss

Don’t facts get in your way. Check with Feaster on recruiting ranking.

every new toy in Toy R Us?
Well, scholarship limits, 120+ other program options, character standards including work ethics and Dabo's 'feels.'
Dabo knows who will fit in and make his program better than anyone including the recruiting 'professionals,' who make their livings by evaluating high school players. The proof's in the pudding.
That's why I always say, 'If he's a Clemson Man he will sign with Clemson.' Even Dabo came home at his first opportunity.

Like Zamir White and Todd Gurley... we are obviously WRU and QBU potentially- it would be nice to add RBU.... yes... I acknowledge spiller and Feaster gets and how Etienne has become all American- so it isn’t ALWAYS I guess I’ve just gotten just spoiled the last 5-8 years as a Clemson grad and fan.

I think our style of play hurts us a little in signing the 5* RBs. It's hard to tell these guys that they are going to come in and be a part of a system, while many SEC teams are telling them the plan is to make them the centerpiece of the offense. A grind-it-out handing off to the running back style doesn't seem to ever be in this coaching staff's plans, but that's OK! We've had some great RBs over the years, and have a few great ones on our roster now no matter their star rating. The right fit at RB realizes that it's better to get 14 carries a game for 120 yards and win championships than it is to get 28 carries in a game for 160 yards and finish with 8 wins! But again, it's hard for some to think they may be sharing the glory with a QB and a few WRs when in their mind that glory could be all theirs.

I'd rather have Travis Etienne than a 5-star RB.

Lyn J Dixon seems as good or better than most 5 star running backs too.
Who cares about stars? I want good football players.

I wouldn't trade either of our last 2 backs (Etienn & Dixon) for any 5 star that was in their class.
