Why did Trump keep documents
Aug 27, 2022, 8:21 AM
|
|
The government has been trying to collect the documents he took out of the White House for a while now. In January he gave some documents and then in June he gave some more. Why didn’t he give all of the documents back? What is Trump’s motive?
My guess is that it’s just Trump being the brat that he is. It’s even possible he wanted this to happen to help him politically. I think it’s pretty unlikely he was going to monetize the information. Not saying it’s impossible but that seems a little far-fetched even by Trump standards.
But certainly can’t we all agree that Trump should’ve given the documents back when the government tried to cooperate in a friendly matter. In January and June they asked him to return all of the documents and he didn’t do it. Seems that fact is not debatable.

They took every box they found that contained classified paper. They now have to go through every piece of paper because there are likely classified documents that aren’t marked properly. Is it the FBI’s fault that Trump put his expired passports in the same box with his diapers , sildenafil, and the nuclear codes?

Trump / keeping doc's: Read Dershowitz (former Dem hero)

Take a few minutes to look up Alan Dershowitz's opinion of Presidential privilege ... including the classification of documents.
Dershowitz, prior to moving out of the Left lane for all matters, had the temerity to go down the middle lane by recently write an article (posted in the lefty mag Newsweek, no less) which described why Trump had full power to classify EVERY Gov't document in his possession as being covered by Presidential privilege.
A future president (J.Biden) should not have the 'power' to re-classify documents that a former president (DJT) had been de-classified.'
Again, I'm not professing to be anything of a legal expert. I'm referencing Dershowitz.

Dershowitz went off the rails and turned into a shill for Fox News a long time back.
Nobody's quite sure if he just went full Giuliani and lost his mind in his dotage, or if somebody on the right put him in their pocket. He was linked to Jeffrey Epstein and that also seems to have been about the point his politics took a really wild shift, so who knows?
I do know whatever rep Dershowitz once had is long, long, long gone. He was doing interviews on freaking Newsmax last week.

Fox News went off the rails and became anti-Trump ... or at least is rapidly trending that way.
Vanity Fair has an article (Aug. 1) detailing the growing rift between Fox and DJT.
Bear in mind that Vanity Fair (like many publications) inserts non-news opinions throughout the article; you've got to glean the (apparent) facts from their editorializing throughout the article.

But to summarize, Dershowitz's opnions on Fox News (and the opinion piece that Newsweek published re: Dershowitz / presidential privilege re: de-classifying classified documents) is not necessarily propagated by 'right wing shill outlets & publications.

Re: The Biden admistration is the most corrupt in history

And to think, Biden out-corrupted Nixon, Obama, and A.Johnson in less than 2 years.
But Obama gets special 'corruption credits' for twisting the Fed. Gov't bureaucracy into profoundly corrupt fiefdoms first. Without that groundwork, Biden's corrupt policies could have never materialized at the current blistering pace.

I definitely agree. I see no sensible reason why DJT has held onto the/any documents for 18 months.
