I just don't understand the star thing-
Your point is well made- some of the best teams Clemson has had have been one or two 4*/5*- then you have Mr Clutch Renfow, walk on.

News flash: If we don’t land the 4 & 5 star targets, then we have to go to our next best choice. Hopefully that is another 4-star, but sometimes it will be a 3 star.

Dabo knows that when Clemson offers a player that it drives up the price that the "other" schools are offering to that player.

If we can get them to run out of money on all of the early rated 4 and 5 star guys then they won't have any left to try to steal the late bloomers from us once our coaches zero in on who they really want.

We want to make sure those legacy little bros dont get offers in December so we can grab them up in February. And then we really make fools if the big NIL schools when we give 9 scholarships to walkons. We all know it worked out once with Renfrow.
