We've only had two JUCO's in the last 10 years, one in 2002

and one in 2006, both were complete busts.
For every "great" JUCO, there are as many or more busts.
Remember all those 5 star JUCOS Lou kept bringing to SCAR his first 3-4 years? Virtually all were complete busts.
Schools like Miss St., Ole Miss, LSU, and Bama are big on JUCO's. They also are not that well thought of academically.
The only good thing about a JUCO bust, is they are usually gone in two years or less.
Finally, the main reason most schools limit or refrain from JUCOs is the NCAA's tie to grad rates and post season elgibility. JUCO's didn't have the core HS GPA to attend a prep school. Therefore, they are more likely to not be able to complete their degree at the D1 school. Such problems can lead to what happened to UCONN basketball, namely, not being eligible for post season play due to their poor grad rate.

So that part of your argument sort of falls apart. I'm not talking about a Dennis Erickson, bail you out of prison and put you on the field JuCo roster. I'm talking about maybe 1 or 2 a year to fill holes created by transfers, injuries, and non-qualifiers.

reflects the opinions of a lot of Clemson fans too. Just to let you know, Clemson does take juco players in other sports (assuming they have the academic scores).
And we're aware Clemson is NOT Stanford, Northwestern or Vanderbilt......however, it sure as #### ain't Florida State either--in anybody's minds.

Doesn't Clemson have JC transfers in its student body ?
We had an offensive line in need of repair. So we repaired it. But my larger question is a why you would categorically rule out a kid who screwd up in high school, for whatever reason, and just like so many other students goes the JC route to move on to a university ? Are there stats showing JC tranfers graduate at a lower rate ? If someone does what they need to do to get into Clemson, why have an across the board philosophy that keeps them out ?

I want the best players who qualify and aren't thugs.
Germans, Jamaicans, Canadians, Brazilians, Russians, Chinese, Junior College, Mormons, Jews, Samoans, Army Veterans, Muslims... I don't care. If they can contribute, suit them up.

And Morris is staying at least through our 2014 QB recruit. When was it said he was leaving?
Ellington has to go, RS Senior
TB and Nuk could leave for NFL, but I dunno if I see them both going. Nuk would go before TB.

Heck, Florida State's offensive linemen told the 'Noles third-string defensive tackles that they were tougher in practice than Clemson's starters were in the game.

FSU's 3rd string defensive line is comprised of three 5-stars and a four-star. All freshmen.

Considering the talent they have stacked up.
I think we should take JUCO players if they can do the school work
