Who's taking in the Kentucky Bourbon Trail while attending the UofL game?

Sep 12, 2017, 2:07 PM

Suggestions: 1) Mint Julep Tours, you have a driver and you're able to take in some great distillers. All the ones close in the Bardstown area, Maker's Mark, Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, just to name a few. Mint Julep Tours will provide you with a GREAT experience. 2) Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, KY....my All-time favorite distillery. Producers of Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, W.L. Weller, Weller Antique (my personal two favs (both Wellers bourbons), Blanton's, and, the very elusive, Pappy Van Winkle line of bourbons, and many other fine bourbon products. Also, Buffalo Trace is not on the KY Bourbon Trail officially (they refused to charge a admissions fee as required by KDA). 3) Watch "BOURBON BOOM DOCUMENTARY" on YouTube

Louisville is a GREAT city, a wealth of things to do within a short driving distance of downtown. And, of course the Home of America's Spirit, Bourbon. You can't go wrong! Enjoy.....

They offer a Burbon Trail WHILE the game is being played?!?!

Better tell UL fans. They'll definitely need it shortly after kickoff.

I'll be drinking Crown Royal, since

that's what REAL Lewisville fans drink. Got to experience Lexington the way their people do.

It's why I also enjoy a red wine when I go to Chapel Hole.

Definitely take the Buffalo Trace tour...

get off I-64W on exit 58 (Frankfort) and drive about ten miles on Hwy 127N and you will see the distillery on the left. It is one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the country. The tour is free and they also have a "hard hat" behind the scenes tour that shows the actual fermentation process. Each tour ends at the tasting room and gift shop. Definitely a must-see and is only about an hour away from Lewisville. Get a bottle of Eagle Rare or Blanton's for sure!

Go Tigers!!!

If you wanna stay in downtown Louisville, the Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse, Angels Envy, Bulleit, Evan Williams Experience, and Copper & Kings (not bourbon but brandy) are all really cool places to check out. Those were my favorites, especially the Evan Williams Experience and C&K.
