Who gets the ball? Nuk,Watkins, Huphries,Bryant, Ellington?

Apr 21, 2012, 12:59 PM

Hate to sort this one out if I was a defensive guy.
Only person they know who touches the ball every down is Boyd. They will key on him. Every other key is useless. Our OL must step up or he could have a rough year.

Teams will focus on our weakness - the oline.

I expect to see Boyd under a lot of pressure all season.

There's something in these hills.

we won't know if that's a weakness until the season starts..

it's a concern since we are so young at oline, but at the same time we were young at wr last year and turned out to be fine in that aspect.

Whoever wants it the most

If the OL isn't gelling and Boyd is getting pressured....

Apr 21, 2012, 1:48 PM

way too much, then it's a #### good thing we have so many guys we can dump it off to quick like Sammy, AE, Bellamy, Nuk. Brandon Ford too at TE (looking real good), etc, etc, etc.

Not saying that's a good thing if he gets hurried, because we'll be at our best when Tajh gets protection and we're able to attack down the field. In those situations where he gets hurried though, I'm betting we have some packages in place where we counter guys over to block and on one side, get it to a big time playmaker (because we have so many now) and at least make something out of nothing. Then hope we can hit them big on the next play.

Like this reply - sounds good!

Lot of good guys to dump it to - Bellamy made great grab & run in spring game, so he can be another one, and there is a freshman coming in from Charlotte?

Let's just hope Boyd dumps it off, and doesn't start trying to force it downfield and get picked off. He was trying to force too much late last year. He just needs to get the rock into his playmakers hands and don't try to so it all himself. When he starts doing that is when we get in trouble. I think Morris calls it "playing within the system".

Some of that forcing was due to the fact that our Defense...

put us in the position that we needed to score almost every position. Hopefully the D will be much better this season, and the O won't feel the pressure to have to score every single possession.

MATCHUPS! Pick on weakest DB's and LB's. Sammy & Nuk

Apr 21, 2012, 9:31 PM

are proven commodities. Jaron is GOOD. Martavis can be GREAT if coaches do their job and ensure he knows the playbook. Jaron has earned 50% of snaps, Martavis needs the other 50%.

I do believe all things on offense starts with Dalton Freeman. He will lead our o-line
