I look at it as "every fly ball is an adventure". And also "what will they do next on the base paths".

We very well may not make it in,but with Crownover and Erwin no host wants to see us in their regional as a 3 seed. We could easily crap the bed,but could absolutely win a regional. Plenty talented enough, but errors and base running blunders are always just around the corner.

I do. There is always a chance to be embarrassed if you play and compete. There is also a chance to succeed. I'm anxious for us to take the chance. Go Tigers!

We have one excellent pitcher and a very good pitcher.
I like our chances to win two games then after that everyone is into their poorer pitchers.

This team seems to go hot and cold with hitting. That to me is the bigger problem in winning the third game with Long. But going 2-3 in the NCAA you can still stay competitive and move into a super can't you?
If the same team that helped Long's confidence in game three in the FSU series comes back for NCAA play and gives him some run relief I'm feeling better about our chances. Problem for Long is he hasn't pitched that many full games so it confidence might get rattled easily.
Either way, I can't imagine getting in the boat with those who think we are better off not going to the NCAA and conceding defeat and "rebuilding" for the future. Just can't do it.

the last 2 weekends we have played in MUCH HARDER series

3 games AT FSU, and 3 games against 2 Top 10 teams (FSU/LVille), so 5 of 6 top 10 teams. And UNC was ranked most of the season.
We went 4-2 in those games.
A Regional, you get to play against at most one Top 10 team, maybe just one Top 25 team. A Regional woud be a step DOWN in competition from the last 10 games. If we get top shelf Crownover and Erwin, we sit at 2-0 and have to win one more somehow before we lose 2. Doable.
A Super Regional would be similar to our weekend against FSU, 3 games against a Top 8 team at home. Nobody can honestly say we have no chance because we've already played - and won - a Super Regional in essence.
These people talking garbage like this cannot be hardcore Clemson fans. They are certainly not "ALL-IN". Not even close.

I agree, Scooter. I think we have an excellent chance of making some real noise. Guaranteed success? No, but what fun would that be? It's the opportunity for failure and for success that make live athletic events so compelling to watch. One of the most satisfying moments that I've experienced as a fan was back in '96 - Holyfied vs Tyson. "While Tyson looked like a beast, Holyfield appeared to be on his last legs. So little was thought of Holyfield at the time, and there were such concerns over his health, that the Nevada State Athletic Commission asked him to go through a special battery of medical tests at the Mayo Clinic before he could be licensed. The heavily favored Tyson, who opened as a 25-to-1 favorite, would steamroll the perceived-to-be faded former champion. But that, of course, is why they fight the fights. Although given little chance to win, Holyfield guaranteed victory in the heavily hyped buildup to the fight and then kept his promise in stunning fashion. In an action-packed fight, Holyfield dominated. In fact, Holyfield bullied the bully." We have every bit as good a chance of winning the CWS as Holyfield had of beating Tyson. Enjoy the ride. Who knows? It may happen.

We just have to be the FSU beating team not the one

that lost to Wofford. Or the one that seemed to be sloppy against UNC in Durham committing 4 errors. Granted the Wofford loss towards the end was pitching fiasco we never recovered from. But we still threw a lot of the bench at them. So, in regional and super regional play we have to hope and pray we can keep Crownover and Erwin at the plate for a solid 7 to 8 innings.
I'm not saying we aren't hot, just worried we aren't as consistent as I'd like to see as we get into more serious play. Especially hitting. As we progress we will need bats to take pressure off of even our best pitchers.

and when we get snubbed for BCS bowl games too. It's terrible to achieve to a higher level.
If we're not undefeated and ranked #1, why bother.
