Who are the starters and back ups for next year?

Jan 15, 2023, 8:07 AM

After the departures and comeback players what’s our team look like on offense and defense? Can next years team feasibly have a chance going all the way or is this a rebuild year prepping for 2024?

This team has playoff potential.

Defense: The back 7 has tons of experience. CB will be a strength instead of a liability. Mukuba moves back to safety, his natural position. DT depth is elite with TD and Ruke returning. DE depth is the only question mark on defense, but the talent is there. Year 2 under Goodwin.

Offense: Cade take a huge leap. Shipley and Mafah are one of the best RB duos in the country. WR depth is worrisome. Briningstool has a statement year. OL returns 4 starters and will have incredible size. Garrett Riley is one of the better offensive minds in college football.

You don't have Woods in your two deep?

Will the TE designation be changed to a WR designation on paper in the new offensive scheme?

No way to know now especially with a OC.

Only one off the departures were considered a potential starter so unless depth is an issue they are non factors. The two deep looks good so the question marks are our coordinators and if we can stay healthy. I expect Wes will be better in his 2nd year but can we get comfortable with our new O out of the gate?
