Which games would you watch

Aug 2, 2012, 10:48 AM

OK - you are shipped to a deserted island, and your only thing to watch is 1 Clemson football game per year. What games do you pick? For those with a longer memory than me, please add some games from the 80's and 90's. Here are my choices...

2011 - ACC Championship vs. VT. (Auburn & FSU may have been more exciting games, but I've got to go with our first conference title win in 20+ years, just for the history)

2010 - at Auburn (one of the few losses to make this list, an incredibly exciting game, plus there weren't a lot of standout wins that year)

2009 - at Miami (overtime thriller, this is the game where Spiller became my favorite Tiger ever, Florida State at night would be a close 2nd)

2008 - South Carolina (the "our interim coach beat your hall of famer" game, not a lot of other good choices from that year)

2007 - Florida State (the Labor Day game, one of my personal favorite days at Clemson ever, great memories)

2006 - Georgia Tech (GameDay, all purple, Davis & Spiller run wild)

2005 - Texas A&M (amazing opening night, James Davis marches us down the field, best night in Clemson history for a kicker. Runner up: Whitehurst goes 4-0 against our rivals)

2004 - at Miami (huge upset over a top-10 Hurricanes team, was shocked at this result)

2003 - Peach Bowl vs. Tennessee (while people say we ambushed & surprised FSU, this was just a cherry on top of the best end of season run we've had in a long time. Plus, my only bowl game on the list)

2002 - at Georgia (my other loss on the list, only time I've attended a game in Athens. Plus I just want this rivalry to come back! Thrilling game, even in defeat)

2001 - at Georgia Tech (my favorite Woody Dantzler performance, the 4th-and-forever TD pass to McKelvey, winning in OT)

2000 - South Carolina (The catch II. 2nd would be Willie Simmons coming off the bench in Chapel Hill to dominate UNC)

Miami OT at home didn't make the list??

Don't remember the year... a while ago. I know we lost but that was the LOUDEST I've ever heard Death Valley. Upperdeck literally moving.

2005. Triple Overtime. An amazing game. ******

'82 orange bowl (the '81 season), a must see for any tiger fan. although you could choose the clemson-unc (with lt at linebacker) game of that year, too.

1989 Gator Bowl vs West Virginia (and heisman finalist Major Harris)

Most abusive defense Clemson has ever put on the field
