Actually yes it does. If Jeff Scott is REALLY as good as you claim, then you should have seen some of that translate to South Florida.

Not true. 3 years in football for a downtrodden program does not mean he isn’t a good coach. Just remember, Nick saban was not that great at Mich St either.

I never said he was a bad coach. I think Jeff Scott is a good coach. He's just just not the "missing link" like some on here claim he is.
The decline over the last couple of years was not because if Jeff Scott leaving. People are trying to make that be the problem because they are looking for an easy answer.

At worse him being around the program and helping coach WRs perhaps rubs off a little on Tyler. WR play has undoubtedly gone down since he left. Now, whether that was due to missed evals on recruits, WR coaching, or poor QB play or all of the above is up for debate. But him helping out at these camps can only help Clemson in my opinion

I don't have any problem with Jeff Scott being back. I think he is a really good coach.
What I get tried of is people thinking Jeff Scott was the reason for all the success, and if we just bring him back, National championships will follow.
I'll say something similar to my reply to another poster. If you are a defensive coordinator, tell me which group you would rather face:
Trevor Lawrence/Travis Etienne/Tee Higgins/Justin Ross
OR DJ Uiagalelei/Will Shipley/Joseph Ngata/Bo Collins.

bad analogyNS was pretty good there; enough to parley it into LSU...

But such a blatantly false premise doesn't require an analogy or excuses for refutation as there is no heirarchial inverse correlation between a coach's success or failure as HC and his ability as a position coach—

I'd say you are too stupid to understand the difference between having Trevor Lawrence/Travis Etienne/Tee Higgins/Justin Ross vs. having DJ Uiagalelei/Will Shipley/Joseph Ngata/Bo Collins.
I'm not saying to to knock any of those players, or Jeff Scott. What I am saying is that there is an undeniable difference in talent between the former and latter group, and that is the reason for the decline, not Jeff Scott leaving.

If you can’t see that wr’s being developed, regressed after Jeff left, I have nothing else to discuss with you. Jeff also was a helluva recruiter, at that position, especially.

The regression is that Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross, and America Rodgers are better than Joseph Ngata, Frank Ladson, and E.J. Williams.

During that time we had Covid so Dabo could not work his magic in person and BS’ing on Skype is not his thing. We also had NIL issues which took time to sort. Now we seem back on track. I think Jeff is a good recruiter and coach but his leaving had little to do with our issues the last few years

Yes, because the previous receivers were NFL caliber, and the following ones weren't.

in this world. Jeff and Brad are top notch folks. Jeff is a Clemson alum and I'm glad to see him back in Tiger town where he belongs. Whether he ever coaches for Clemson again is inconsequential.

Dabo must have asked him to help out with the camp if he wanted to have a little something to do while he was in family time mode.
