Where is the forward toss to Antonio W in motion . . .

Oct 18, 2022, 10:33 AM

between the line and DJ. Antonio needs more touches. And when we have success with that play in the past, anytime he is in motion the their Linebackers will have more to think about. Amari gave teams fits when he was in motion. Some folks will say this play is gimmicky play, but it will also help DJ's stats as it is forward pass and if dropped it is an incomplete pass not a fumble. Antonio can flat out fly.

Agree, he reminds me very much of Artavis Scott.

All those jet sweeps against SCAR in 2014 were a thing of beauty.

Can we block that?

Oct 18, 2022, 11:03 AM

Our outside blocking has been atrocious all year (and last year), so I'm not sure we could block that on the edge well enough to get him around the corner and up field.

I still wouldn't mind to see us try it, but I wouldn't be shocked if it just got blown up for a 3 yard loss before he could ever get his foot in the ground and turn up field.

I've been impressed with Randall blocking on the edge. He even caught a personal foul penalty at the LOS while fighting to get open.

Between Randall and our tight ends blocking it would be worth trying

^^This on both counts. Randall has the 'want to' that can be developed. Combine that with a TE to that side, abd it's worth a couple of looks per game.

Agree. There was a reason coaches raved about Randall prior

to his injury.

He appears to have all the tools. More than just a receiver. Strong enough to block out on the edge.

And his snap count indicates he’s working his way up the depth chart.

Would not be surprised to see him get a start at some point over the last half of the season.

It'll come out when needed. Been setting it up all year. When it's crunch time, it'll be there. One of our offensive philosophies seems to be show the same look over and again, until at just the right moment, we break the tendency. Predetermined zone reads come to mind. DJ will give, give, give, then take. Or he'll run a naked bootleg out of it or something. We as fans, don't know whether what looks like a bad read in the zone game was called or if it was a bad read, I think maybe called more often than not in order to set up something later in the game. Think this will be the case with Agent 0 running the jet sweep as well.
