On a plate where I thought I had some real fresh looking cranberry sauce......I attacked that thing aggressively like I was some velociraptor. The next thing you know I paused like I've never paused before.... because stuffed in my mouth to what I thought was cranberry sauce turned out to be ......beets. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Oyster stew. Every time my mother made it (every Friday night) I got a spanking for refusing to eat my supper. Even a whole bottle of ketchup didn’t help. Even our dog Ginger, lurking under the dining room table, refused to eat the oysters. I tried to sneak them to her every week. Good times!!!

Without any doubt in this world, it was pig tails and pig feet, and I can remember it as if it was today. My mom never put it my plate again, and it was the first and only time that I've ever threw up at the table, and that was bc my dad tried making me eat it!!!

I’m talking about some kind of an aspic or gelatin loaf thing with discernible bits of various cast off hog parts - lips, tongue, ears, etc floating in it. (Hence the hogs head name). Never remotely considered eating that stuff.

I still get a little queasy remembering the sight of my grandfather fishing a hog tongue from the “puddin’ pot” when I was on hand as a youth when he slaughtered a hog. The traumatic thing was seeing that tongue with a perfect bite out of it, complete with teeth prints.

could not even go in Clemson dining hall on days liver was served- later in life I saw a man pull a strip of chitterlings out of the pot where it was boiling and suck it down like a strand of spaghetti, I still cringe at the thought!

Ate it at a buddys house when i was a kid, got sick in the middle of the night and havent eaten it since. Cured me from all pizza for several years.
Also as a kid, my dad bet me $1 I couldnt eat a large.shrimp plate while we were on vacation at the beach. Won the dollar, but didnt eat shrimp for a long while. Love it now though.

Beets 🤮, cottage cheese and steamed squash. When I went to daycare we had to eat everything on our plate or we didn’t get dessert and the cook there could make great desserts. I would gag choking that steamed squash down so I could get my beloved dessert. 😂

horrible looking and tasting concoction. Mayhap my disdain for those weeds has kept me from being prosperous over the years as I might have otherwise been, but it ever shall be so. Just thinking about them makes me want to barf.
