Something has changed regarding the Hill and I cannot comment on what that is because I’m at a loss as well, but it’s no where close to being what it once was. That used to be standing room only.
Thought Rad changed something but again I’m not certain.

There’s the whole fire Marshall explanation about limiting the crowd. However, why was the one side basically filled but a small patch of students on the other? Maybe it’s because the students enter the gates from the south side and they make it difficult to get over to the north side until after they run down the Hill? My guess is students are arriving too late to get over to the other side.

The students would rather sit in the student section… can’t blame them. Used to be that no matter where you were assigned on your ticket, you could go sit on The Hill, now you can’t do that. I was at the game and The Hill looked fine. Yeah, it wasn’t full, but everywhere else was. Don’t know why people on here stress over it.

Maybe everyone wants to see the giant scoreboard they've heard so much about.

Last season I tried to get my son (13) and his buddy on the hill. We have season tix but he wanted to go hangout on the hill for 2nd half. They wouldn’t let him on b/c he didn’t have a “hill ticket”. When I was in school (90’s) the hill was spillover for freshman that couldn’t get seats in the stands and anyone else who wanted to sit there. There certain not wasn’t anyone policing who was on the hill or checking tix. FWIW, I finally talked one of the ticket people into letting him on for the 4th qtr. not sure if they’re doing same thing this year.

thought so when I was ten years old and we played Long Beach State and that was the #### seat we had. Why would anyone want to sit there?

It's the experience. I agree it's a horrible "seat",

My guess is they will revise the plans for the extra seating and only leave the area the team runs down as the hill. It looks terrible now though with the left side always empty.

It awful and is totally on our AD! I was at the game last night and saw the following… A huge line of students going through a single file line to get a wrist band to get on the hill. The hill is completely blocked off and only one way of entrance down a ramp on the right side (no left side access at all)! 8 minutes into the first quarter students were still coming in one by one through 8 security guards single file. I anticipate roughly 500 plus students gave up and went elsewhere to sit or stand. The hill looks terrible and Mr. Neff needs to do something asap before the NCSU game. It’s not a fire Marshall issue as to what I saw last night. It’s a logistical issue and needs to be fixed. The hill tradition is being slowly killed and takes away from the entrance. Fix it Mr. Neff please!!!

After the 1st quarter you could practically walk on the hill without a ticket in the mid to late 80’s. Students could basically walk in to stand on the hill with an current student ID anytime.

If me and my buddies could not get 4 together we would try to get any lowers and just meet at the hill. Do not remember anyone standing there monitoring hill access. Looks good when full.
