such devotion? With Leggett, he had a long and mostly successful tenure at Clemson, so I could, in a small way, understand the desire by some, to let him keep his job. Tommy Bowden again, had success and was a"name" from a football family but when it was time for him to move on, some fought it and allowed him to stay for probably 3-4 years longer than need be but he at least had a winning record. Why Brad Brownell? From a pure W/L standpoint, minimal success. Recruiting, development and retaining players, very questionable. I keep hearing of his greatness as an"X's and O's coach" yet his teams seem to always start slow, losing to teams they should beat, and completely fall apart blowing huge leads down the stretch. While likable, he seems to lack a magnetic personality that exudes great passion and evolve great excitement among the faithful. I fail to see the attraction for all of his rabid supporters. I suspect the reasons for keeping Brownwell in the minds of his supporters are 2 fold. First, they feel sympathy and a responsibility for him because In their mind he was lured here and we are somehow responsible for his failures. Secondly and possibly the most likely is that it's just easier to accept what we have and not create any "waves" because that's what "Clemson people are suppose to do." I get that, my father, the greatest Clemson fans I've ever known, believed that we support the coach no matter what. I'll admit, I am way too antagonistic, argumentative and refuse to allow my love for Clemson to be tied to a random Tigernet Pulse. I also post some outlandish stuff to evoke a response because I know deep down what we as fans feel matters ZERO but admit it or not, our Basketball program is stuck in the mire, where it has been many times before. Honestly, it doesn't personally matter if Brownell stays for another 10 years the bigger issue here is why? The answer to that single, one word question will speak volumes in determining the future of Clemson Basketball.
