I've heard a lot about the money scandal, but I want concrete details from people who were around then. I figure you guys always have an opinion, and I'd like to hear it.

I think he has done a ggod job overall.

Concerns:
1) Make sure a Clemson degree hasn't become beyond the reach of SC students.
2) Quit telling me how to behave at FB games. My parents took care of that long before I graduated from Clemson.
3)quit being so nic eto our rivals......NEVER LET ANY OF THEM DOT OUR i.....Can't ever forgive that!

Out of State Enrollment has risen 15%-18% under his watch. SC students may be able to afford it but there just might not be enough room.
2) Quit telling me how to behave at FB games. My parents took care of that long before I graduated from Clemson.

The money scandal, unfortunately was more than a disgruntled employee. The case prevailed because the University effectively argued they were an arm of State Government and couldn't be sued -- after previously arguing that they WERE NOT an arm of the State Government.
The value of your degree is directly proportional to the work you do - your not getting a raise because someone else said we're top 25!
Smoke and mirrors magician - very little substance
Oh yeah - the University raised tuition the same year they paid for the Barker's $300,000 trip to the Olympics - the elected members of the BoT questioned if it was a wise move but the lifers approved it!!

So long as he doesn't mess with football, and does decent in athletics he's doing a good job. Hell we need a ceo and not a president in this day and age.

I guess I'd qualify as an old geezer having graduated 58 years ago. I like him a lot. Under his watch, Clemson has risen in the academic world. Your degree is more valuable. So far as the scandal is concerned, I think it was more about a disgruntled former employee.

the value has risen, but so has the cost.
i'd like to some sort of objective analysis comparing the increase in value vs. the increase in cost.

Value has risen do to increase tuition and entry standards.

And fudged test scores because of the bridge program. Bridge students SAT's and ACT's dont factor into the school average because they are "transfers", therefore we go up in the rankings (Online classes and "Creatiive Inquiry" classes factor in to pushing our measurables in the right direction.
I'm in different to the admin, but this is why we're "moved up" ^^^

He has also KILLED the ag programs !!!!!!!!
He forgot Clemson is a land grant school but I don't think he does a very good job when it comes to taking care of that

He may not be perfect but I have seen them all pretty up close since RC. RC was the best but Barker is definitely a close second. Honorable mention to Walter Cox who served as an interim

This geezer had to shake Max Lennon's hand on graduation day. He seemed genuinely bothered to be there. Not sure if he was ever a twenty something year old, but if he was, he probably hated himself then. Did not like him at all.

Pres. Barker is the best since R.C. Edwards. I have experience as both a student and a long-time employee at Clemson. Believe me, he was a breath of fresh air after Lennon and Dino Curris.
