We're playing with COVID recruits.

Something is amiss and it has a lot to do with talent. COVID hampered Dabo's ability to recruit. The loss of Jeff Scott hampered Dabo's ability to recruit. Couple both of those things, I think you get a mish mash of talent that's not as great as it looked on paper.
While elite QBs can make a difference, there are plenty of non-Elite 11 QBs playing well right now. Heck, Miami's QB got better over 4 quarters last night. QB play has got to get better. DJ and now Cade.
WR U no more. Randal has flashes of being a good WR. Beaux Collins, I think he was a recruiting miss and a byproduct of recruiting DJ. Brown and Antonio are very good but we need that big 50/50 reciever. Gotta find that Nuke Hopkins that has an edge and might not be the choir boy that Dabo likes.
OL....why can we NOT recruit OLs? We were a school that WAS playing annually for a NC. You'd think maybe we could find a couple that would want to come to little ole Clemson.
Shipely ain't it! (For full disclosure, I'm not a fan. If I never see him shaking his extended arms on a KO in to the EZ ever again, it won't be soon enough.) Mafah is not being used correctly. He's an every down back and looks like a back that would get stronger as the game goes on (might even make the OL look good). In his current role, when he comes in, everyone knows what to expect 80% of the time. After last night I full expect Mafah to say eff it for the rest of the season and start looking at the portal (he won't be the only one).
Mix all of that with an offense scheme that's relies on our Johnnys being better than their Jimmys, you have a team that's 4-3 with at least a couple of more loses on the way.
Didn't even talk about the D. In couple of sentences: Our D is a reflection of our DC. We're missing a true leader on D (could any tell me who is the heart and soul of the D?)

It knows not to bother people while they are eating so they can take off their mask. It knows not to invade people within the same confrence. Now it seems it knows only to hinder Clemsons recruiting efforts and not Georgias or Alabamas. Or Michigan. Or Ohio State.

kids unless they’ve visited. Offers far less players. To his point, COVID absolutely effected us more than those other programs recruiting and evaluation wise. However, we should not be this dismal on Offense and we shouldn’t be sitting here at 4-3 reagardless. It’s not our only issue.

Dabo's recruiting process relies heavily on in-person contact....the restriction

under COVID inhibited Dabo from using his skills as a salesman to close the deal. So, e f f f you on the COVID political statement.

Everyone had to deal with COVID, not just Dabo.

It would’ve been nice to get them on campus, but we had plenty of things to wow recruits during COVID:
-Two recent national championships -Regularly in the CFP -Numerous NFL draft picks -Reputation as a player-friendly program (facilities, fun atmosphere, etc.)
Of course it’s always nice to get players to campus, but the above are the most important factors to recruits. Plus, it’s not like we didn’t still recruit well during COVID. We still had top 10 classes.
