Well let’s see Brownie has used the portal for several years, now he had to because he ran off so many of his recruits. Last year the result was a NUMBER #1 seed in the Not In Tournament!!! How’d that work out? He LOST in 1st round!!!! I say this because you seem to think that portal is the be all end all but the COACH makes the team and Dabo recruits at a high level and like all teams Clemson can not make playoffs every year but they have not had less than. 8 wins in a lot of years. Football recruits at a high level and that has not changed!! Football is on the rise again and will win at the highest level … that kills you doesn’t it jk!!! And one last thing FOOTBALL paid for the renovations to Littlejohn so maybe you should keep you personal agenda to trash talk it to yourself because without Dabo’s teams success littke bb wouldn’t have all the chances to maybe finally after 13 years not screw it up!!! And we’re just fine. We don’t have a huge hole where we can guarantee snaps to anyone, so we’re not going to land some top transfer player. Landing a portal player means almost nothing. If we weren’t turnover prone, we would have dominated the FSU portal heroes last year. South Carolina is about to land a top portal RB next year, but is anyone actually worried about them because of that? No.
I have no doubt that we would win a portal battle if we had a major hole in our lineup, but I don’t see one. Maybe at DE opposite of Parker? If I’m a DE, though, and I see Parker, Woods, Capehart, and the other DL talent, I have to imagine almost every other school has a more favorable depth chart.

I should clarify, landing a portal player means a lot to the NC States, South Carolinas, etc of the football world. Those teams have lots of turnover and need that veteran talent infusion to stay competitive. Obviously, a portal QB makes a huge difference if you don’t have one (e.g. Notre Dame), but in general, portal players are just keeping teams competitive. There are some top players, but they need to be paid and guaranteed playing time. In summary, not worried about losing a “portal battle” to GT, South Carolina, NC State, etc.

Sort of. Stay the course, but 8-4 is not fine. Without the turnovers, I would have been fine with how the season turned out (because we would have had a better record), but we had poor discipline controlling the ball and that is a mixture of many things but should be avoidable for a good team.
But my message was purely about the portal.

You actively pull for Clemson to fail. Guess what you’re failing at that. The football team closed out with four dominating wins, the basketball team is playing it’s best basketball of the Brownell era, the girls soccer team made it to the final four, the men’s soccer won the national title, the track team who won a conference title last season is starting it’s indoor season, softball and baseball is right around the corner. Clemson athletics is doing great and all you can do is come poo poo on here about stuff that doesn’t even affect the success of the football team.

we have to worry about Tech portaling. I'm sure they could use a few more starters in other slots as well. Good thing we're not playing them again until 2025 so this year's crop will have rotated out by then.
