1 - Shoulda brought sunscreen. 4+ hours out in total sun with a cool wind blowing pretty consistently was enough to totally scorch my pretty little face. Thankfully it was cold enough that I kept my sweatshirt on, so all that got burned was my face, but that IS the prettiest part of me, so that's a drag. A painful reminder that you CAN very easily get sunburned - and pretty badly - even when it's cold. Maybe especially when it's cold!
2 - Those ladies are incredibly talented. The pitching is top-notch, but the defense this year has really stepped it up. Outstanding plays in the field by almost every player.
3 - the music. Full disclosure - I'm 53 and am not a fan of current pop/Top 40 music. Not at all. I get that I was on a college campus and that the players have their own walk-up music and am cool with that. But in looking around at the stadium, the average demographic looked to be in their 40s or so - I didn't see many students in attendance (other than the players/staff). Why all the hip-hop/Top 40? They played a few songs from other decades, but there's a lot of great stuff from 70s on up to today that they could play. I could only take so much about being "turnt up" (over, and over, and over....). And never once did they play "Centerfield" by John Fogerty, or "American Girl" by Tom Petty. They did play a bit of "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen, which I thought might be borderline inappropriate for a ladies' softball game, but they didn't get to the chorus (I think they just played it when there was a runner on 3rd and they played the "You gonna take me home tonight" part). I know not everyone likes classic rock or whatever, but I don't know that there are that many that really can't stand it or are offended by it. Then there's the hip-hop/Top 40 where they are editing out loads of words, but not enough that you can't tell what they were editing out anyway, and I do know of many who really can't stand that style. Call us old fogeys or old farts or whatever, but it was probably the majority of those in attendance, or close to it.
4 - all in all, probably my favorite sport to attend at Clemson. I love the football games - especially the big night games - but I'm not a fan of all the crowds and waiting in lines and being squeezed into the stadium. I do enjoy the openness and simplicity of the softball games, hanging out on the berm, watching the little kids sliding down it like they used to do in the stadium years ago, and really love the talent and energy of our team.
Go Tigers!!

but probably a low student attendances any way. Stupid kids. They will regret it when they start having to pay to go to these things. I know i did.

Yeah, the music part I'll leave to them. Whatever appeals to the young kids.
As for the students. Understanding spring break etc, but their attendance at sporting events is an ongoing peeve of mine. ALL SPORTS are lacking student attendance. Probably in their posh apartments keyboard watching... if that.
I do know in the 60s and 70s other students would rag on the ones that didn't go. Simply put, if you were a student, you were at the games.
I would recommend they go back to playing women's basketball b4 men's game. Also coordinate events at separate times.

so i can confirm
"in their posh apartments"
my daughter's rent will be $1400/month next year. With 2 other roommates that is $4200/month not including utilities and parking for a 3 bedroom 900 sq ft apartment.
my son's will be $1200/month but he gets to park for free. yaaaay.
Both HAVE to sign 12M lese agreements as well. AND both were lucky to get the apartments they got. You have to sign up 11 months in advance.
Tom Winkopp worked this one to perfection.

I get the walk-up song choices. It's all the fillers, particularly between innings.

Fat Bottom Girls is Maddie Moore's walk-up song...pretty funny that she chose that. When I first heard it earlier this year I was like wow, that's bold, then I realized it was a walk-up. Crazy Train was another walk-up but I don't remember who...maybe Logoleo.
I went downtown Saturday night with my youngest daughter, hit TTT and TD's. I did not know a single song they played at TTT...daughter did. Needed some Zepellin or Floyd for this old man. Not a lot going on with spring break happening.

Any info on how many, if any, tickets they reserve for

Students at softball games? I know all of the seated area tickets are sold out for the season, and the only walk up tickets available are for the berm; so, just curious if there are student seats available.
As far as the music I’m not really concerned about the demographic of the crowd. These games are for the students playing let them pick the music; we’re just lucky enough to get to watch.

Sunday went to men’s baseball and women’s softball back to back…
Baseball pitching is bad
The women are dominant
I would say the opposite of the music at the baseball game. It was the absolute most dreadful, bro country, brainless garbage imaginable… The women’s music was much better.
Yes I am fried

roasted the right side of my face and cooked my right ear during the 1st game despite putting on sunscreen. It was warm watching the game.
Felt like I was freezing the 2nd game; the wind chapped my sunburned face and hands.
Musically, Will Taylor has the most infectious walk-up song. Love it.
