I've been updating the H5N1 thread over in the covid area

Some red flags are flying with the way the gubmint is slow-rolling this whole thing. Very reminiscent of covid.

Scientists from across the world have complained about the USDA not releasing the cow H5N1 sequences. So they did. WITHOUT a date, or location, which is customary when publishing sequences. So every sequence could have come from the same farm, or same state, same cow, who knows. Pointless for monitoring things. Oh, and house cats have been dying on these dairy farms from the virus as well.

They have confirmed the flu virus levels in cow milk is very high, and the virus appears to be preferring the mammary glands in the cows. They have also tested milk from grocery stores and have found the virus in grocery store milk. BUT, they insist the pasteurization is killing the virus and that pasteurized milk is still safe for consumption. They also could not determine (BS) if the virus found in pasteurized store milk was active/live virus, or dead virus. A lot of "there is no evidence" going around.

Meanwhile, for 2+ years this has been going around chicken farms, and now cows, along with goats, dogs, cats, sea lions, mink, and now a couple of humans, and the CDCFDAUSDA and all the alphabet agencies have STILL not conducted an H5N1 seroprevalence survey among poultry (or now cattle) workers. Seems odd. But....never fear. Japan, China, Egypt, and other countries have done just that. The news is not very good. Every seroprevalence study for H5N1 that has been done in the past 5 years (mostly with poultry workers) in other countries, has showed seroprevalence levels below 10%, with most studies south of 5%. That's bad news. This means much fewer asymptomatic cases than covid for example, and also means that the death rate (CFR) which is 40-50%, is probably not that much off from what would happen if it spread among humans (at least without major mutations). The hope is 80% of poultry workers may have been exposed, and as such that means most cases are unknown or mild, and the CFR is actually far lower. Does NOT seem to be the case though. With covid, 49% of cases weer asymptomatic, and we had 95% seroprevalence even before 500K cases. So covid is much less deadly, although more contagious, and also has long term impacts.

And lastly, I'll leave a link. H5N1 is a type of influenza-A. Amarillo, Texas is seeing an unusually high level of flu-A in wastewater (for this time of year, or any time of any year really). Beyond peaks seen elsewhere during a normal influenza season, at the peak week. Let's hope this is farmers dumping milk down the sewer drains.

and it could be a cold or prolly pollen, so they choose to put a mask on in hopes it helps keep them from catching said cold or being effected by pollen to the extent that they miss work and probably don't want to miss work.

That, or they are getting private advice from Fauci, or they follow Tiggity®'s blog bird flu strains and don't read it b/c TLDR but figure if a MF has time to type all of that they can put a mask on for a hot minute.
