Well, that was a fun morning....

At 9:50 this morning 2 of our supervisors got texts threatening a mass shooting at our plant. Both from the same number with a NJ area code.

We put the buildings on lock-down and called the threat into 911. State and local law enforcement responded in mass. I counted approx 30 officers, many with tactical rifles. Gotta say I was impressed with their response. First officers were here in less than 5 minutes and in less than 10 minutes they had all entrances blocked and all entry ways manned.

Luckily, no action so far. They investigated some recently fired employees, etc... Looks like the texts came from an IP-based number, which is going to take them longer to trace.

They released the lock-down a bit ago and are keeping officers around our area.

Apparently, the call went out that there was an active shooter, instead of a threat of an active shooter, which is probably why there was such a big response.

Make sure that you don't make eye contact with anyone. Whenever you need to move around, walk as briskly as possible and keep your hands in your pockets. You don't want people to think you have a gun, so keep your hands where people can't see. Make sure to ask around to everyone if they know if the police has caught the suspect or what type of charges the suspect might face. Especially talk it out with the police officers. Make sure you laugh often and loudly at anything. If people hear you laughing, they'll know that you're in a light mode and definitely NOT the suspected shooter.

You should definitely bring your own gun to work tomorrow

to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.

Make sure you show it off to everybody in your building so they know not to #### with you
