outdoorsman, fully aware of my surroundings...at all times...I mean, I've hopped more bobwire fences, climbed in and out of more boats, waded more creeks,plucked more breasts out of doves,cleaned more quail,fileted more fish, skinned more rabbits,etc.etc....but, having said all that , I wish I had a camera on me Monday in the Broad when I pulled my Bonafide up on a rock to quickly get out and drink a Pepsi and tie on three new lures before getting back at it...and, standing on that rock with my kayak tied to me, I took a step back to get a rod out of the inside of the boat, FULLY AWARE OF MY SURROUNDINGS.......and there was NO ROCK TO STEP BACK ON.......I must have looked like a small windmill before I met the water flat on my back...thank the Lord I didn't land on a sharp rock, but instead a deep pool....I could have made Bill Dance proud with that one...

in a long time yesterday. Went to my pond to check on the garden and pick some squash and heard some Bobwhite's whistling their tune. I instantly thought of my dad and how much he loved to quail hunt.

wanted to have the camera in your possession when this happened and wondered what good a submerged camera would have been. Also - if you were standing on the rock, how did you step back expecting to still be on the rock again? I know , I am getting older and slower between the ears daily!

I did catch these twins shortly thereafter. 17 inchers..

Maybe 3 lbs. Each..Caught about 25...not great but not bad..would love to go today but have work to do..
