This week isn't about the BCS or style.

Nov 26, 2013, 9:54 AM

I don't care how or by how many. Just win.

I can guarantee you this. Should this unthinkable streak stretch to five, I will take an extended break from TNet. I will not be able to tolerate the Dabo lovers defense- "he's better than Tommy."

Just win.

So, you're saying

Nov 26, 2013, 10:00 AM

We can't just print some inspirational message on a tennis ball and make it better? ;)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

amen to the defending dabo part.......

Nov 26, 2013, 10:00 AM

5 straight losses is inexcusable no matter how you slice it...........you can't defend that.

and I can't stand hearing/reading the "loser's mentality" of "regardless of the outcome we're still a great team"........that's just accepting defeat

Yarn. Are the Dabo hater agenda posts over?

Nov 26, 2013, 10:03 AM

Now, let's get back to the game. Great opportunity here to win if our young men execute!

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

"Re: Yarn. Are the Dabo hater agenda posts over?" Ha!

Nov 26, 2013, 10:04 AM

Is Dabo done losing to Sukolina?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I hope our young men want it more and can get the job

Nov 26, 2013, 10:05 AM

done.

It's not about who wants it more. Your first post was better

Nov 26, 2013, 10:13 AM

It's about execution: Can our RB's and TE's block? I shutter to think of Clowney matched-up with Seckinger. Can we handle Sutton and Quarles? Will our defense keep Shaw (or Thompson) in the pocket? How about tackling Mike Davis?

I have no doubt we "want" this game. My only question is do we have a coach that can put our guys in position to succeed? Given a month Dabo can beat anybody. Can he do it in a week? We'll see.

Dabo does not execute plays. Our players have to want it and

Nov 26, 2013, 10:23 AM

they have to execute at the highest level. I think they will --you sound like you think they will not.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's going to take a complete shift in mentality

Nov 26, 2013, 10:31 AM

And it's not just centered around a belief that you can win. It's an anger fueled by hate that will unleash an uncontained agression. I think someone posted a comment about the first 7 or 8 minutes being important and I would agree. The tone must be set early. We either do it to them or they're going do it to us. And you'll know it's working by the look on Tajh's face.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, by your logic, our players must hate big games.

Nov 26, 2013, 11:23 AM [ in reply to Dabo does not execute plays. Our players have to want it and ]

If it's about "wanting it", then our players (who were recruited and are now coached by Dabo and Co.) must hate big games. By your logic, we didn't want to win the Orange Bowl, four in a row vs Sukolina, or FSU 3 of the last 4 years.

I will kindly disagree. Coaching is the difference- every time. If players don't want it- that's on the coach. Duke? You telling me Duke's players want it more than when they were a doormat? Or is David Cutcliffe a good coach?

Players AND coaches win games. But make no mistake, it starts with the coaches. They run the practices, set the standards, and call the plays.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Coaches provide players with the opportunity to win games.

Nov 26, 2013, 2:23 PM

Players have to take advantage of that opportunity to do so. Their were teams before their were coaches in college football.

I accept your terms. ******
