This has been a week already! Just as we are convinced that our world revolves around a win/loss column, we are harshly reminded that there are much bigger issues to concern ourselves with. This week, I crave your prayers for the husband of one of my friends who suffered a medical emergency and is in ICU. His recovery will be measured by months and his family needs all the support and prayers anyone can offer. In a previous post, I spoke of a young player at a different college who had been shot and died. Today I read that his team has cancelled the rest of their season and that the coach has resigned. All those young men and their families need our prayers.
Last night, a number of lives were lost in Maine. Again, things that are more important than a win/loss column. Some of our young men who have gone pro seem to need a few prayers too. For clarity and wisdom and to not get themselves in dumb situations.
But for today, and for this week, I want to offer my prayers to Noble Johnson, Jeadyn Lukus, Myles Oliver, Kobe McLeod, Brenden Strozier, Khalil Barnes, Riggs Faulkenberry (fabulous name- should be a character in an English mystery series), Colby Doolittle, Evan McCutchen, Bryn Tucker. Jackson Smith and Greg Williams. I pray that they know love, that they give and receive respect and consideration to their tasks and assignments, and that all traveling mercies are visited upon them as they travel over the next few days. I ask prayers for Coach Conn, that he is blessed and complete. I ask for prayers for all the students and staff as they go about creating their life and striving toward their goals. Tomorrow is such a nebulous gift that should be valued above all else. Go Tigers!
