We know CU has never had a Heisman winner -

Aug 29, 2019, 5:40 AM

...so far...

In fact, a bunch of schools have no Heisman. Schools that HAVE produced a winner is a more exclusive club than the number of U.S. Presidents.

Heisman schools - 40
Presidents - 45

The HONOR SYSTEM here - please don't look it up.

Only ONE of these schools HAS a Heisman winner; the other 5 have none.
Which school has a Heisman?

Cal
GaTech
Minnesota
Missouri
Tennessee
Washington

Don't know about which school has a Heisman winner, but Clemson has Heisman Street that goes to Riggs Field and NO other school has that.

Props on putting together an interesting game, I like it!

That being said....

The Heisman has become a popularity contest for uninformed media voters.

The Heisman has lost a lot of prestige due to the fact that it's rarely given to "the best" college football player. It's now primarily an award for QB's. In addition, too many voters mail in their ballots before the season is 1/2 over, and don't even watch all of the games!

It becomes less and less important with every passing season.

I totally agree with ya, Reckless 96. I've blasted the integrity of the "award" for years. But, we'll probably have to live with it's being around forever. It's inescapable, so I guess we gotta live with it - and other terrible things in sports like the NCAA. So I thought, "Maybe we can at least use it for trivia."

Interesting answers. I'll post the correct one at High Noon. In the meantime, please don't look it up.

Here's a fun (& crazy) fact, though...
N.Dame is tied with 2 other schools for most Heismans....7, I think. One - 1956 - went to Irish RB Paul Horning even though N.Dame won only TWO games that year!

Sorry - meant to post answer at noon & got tied up.

The answer is: MINNESOTA has one Heisman winner (...from 1941...however...) - it was Bruce Smith from Minn. All other schools in that list (& about another 69-70 FBS Div I schools, including CU) have no Heisman wiiners - YET.

"Gatorbowl" got the school & player correct. ClemsonTig got the school correct. Set of Dollar General steak knives to both (not dishwasher safe).
