On Saturday or Sunday in the upstate. Looks like it could be more of a mix now. Would like to see a a couple snow flakes, no pun intended around my way for at least a day.

I live in northern Greenville county and my weather apps are saying maybe 5-10" if it stays just snow. If it's a "wintry mix," then who knows. Just depends on when the most precipitation comes down - when it's snow or when it's rain or something else.
Go get your milk & bread while you can!

year. It was also great to have yearly snowfall at Clemson, just as common as Greenville.
I took a engineering position in the midlands during the Spring of 1991, and the last snow I have seen in the Columbia/Lexington area was on 1/31/2014. Yes, the morning of Halloween! We are pushing toward a decade without any real snow on the ground in the midlands. You could have bought your 10 year old a snow sled in 2014, and they are now pushing 20 years old. I hope their children get to use the sled some day!

well shoot, we just had 5 inches of snow here in north Alabama last week. Lost a tree and took a couple of days to clear it out. Don't want no more snow around here.

several days. Thank Goodness my parents house had a fireplace insert stove. No fan due to the loss of electricity, but that thing would burn wood and heat the heck out of the den!
And, they had a gas stove, so Mama didn't even slow down with the cooking.
Travel was almost non-existent though, whole trees as well as a whole world full of tree LIMBS broken off and blocking the roads. The ice was so thick, and the weather so cold, the ice hung around (literally hung around) for several DAYS.
We also had a different, major snowstorm the year before. The snow was a mere inconvenience next to the Ice Storm.
