We go 12-1 and win the ACC, here are your choices…

Nov 6, 2022, 7:22 PM

Would you rather:

1. Go to playoff (assuming things fall in to place), and play UGA in ATL in the 1v4 matchup. This is assuming they beat LSU in the SECCG.

2. Play Alabama or LSU in the Orange Bowl?

Lots could happen but give me 1 all day. Maybe we lose but at least we are giving ourselves a rematch with the defending national champion who beat us by one score last season.

Nothing went right vs ND, but if we can use this loss as a catalyst to correct some things (looking at you coaches) and bounce back this team has top end talent and will be better for it. Would rather go out with a fight in Atlanta.

Also, could FSU win the SEC West?

0% chance of playoffs now. Gimme LSU for a revenge game.***

ESPN actually had us at 31% this a.m-

Nov 6, 2022, 7:44 PM

Sounds crazy yes considering what we have seen recently but TCU/Mi/p12 chaos and who knows. We just look like a team that will drop another game before selection time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i dont want to see us in but

Nov 6, 2022, 7:46 PM [ in reply to 0% chance of playoffs now. Gimme LSU for a revenge game.*** ]

realistically we have a chance to get in..a tcu loss with pac 12 big and sec champ all getting in..if we were to win the sec with one loss..that would leave us a one loss big 12 and maybe a tennessee getting in with one loss..but int hat scenario i wouldnt mind tenn jumping us.

I'll take LSU in the Orange for $1000, Alex. It seems like our best option for a good match to wrap up the season.

I highly doubt we get into the playoffs and certainly think we have no business being in it right now. But I guess take the playoff berth although either of those scenarios would make me more nervous than heck of another drubbing.

Also no, FSU wouldn't win the west.

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

probably get smashed either way

but the playoff probably pays out more..so id go take the money as well

Nov 6, 2022, 8:09 PM

We have two players in the top 10 pick nfl 1st round projection in Bresee and Murphy, the announcers said we have 7 guys in our front seven that could play on Sundays. Our back end is serviceable.

We have multiple 5 star QBs and 3 great backs, good TE’s, talented but underperforming WR, much improved line.

Coordinators could be our biggest weakness.

We aren’t chopped liver. Maybe we get a spark from the drubbing. We did nothing right.

ND should win out and has a shot to beat Southern Cal. FSU is now ranked and will likely win out. We still have ranked wins.

If we lose 21-14 or even 28-14 on the road in a windy raucous environment the perception wouldn’t be as bad. It’s that last score that could do us in.

SEC champ in
BIG10 champ in

Then…

North Carolina can score. Clemson can't score. The way Maye runs and throws he will have a field day against the Clemson defense.

UNC's defense is worse than Wake. I like our chances to put 31 on the board. Now can we hold Maye under 31 is the question.

I believe that Clemson can right the ship (with DJ) and win out.

However, they CANNOT get into the CFP and they shouldn't. We are NOT a top 5 team.

Before last night I thought Clemson could get down and dirty with UGA. After that though I know how foolish I was. They would ram it down the defenses throat for 4 quarters and score at will.

We’re in trouble with either #1 or #2 and no, FSU definitely couldn’t win the SEC West

Re: We go 12-1 and win the ACC, here are your choices…

Nov 6, 2022, 8:40 PM

FSU can just beat the sec west champ, got it.

If we win out we have about an 80% chance to be in the playoff per espn.

12-1 conference champ who has won it in recent years.

Not saying we are top 4 eye test teams right now, but a one loss conference champ carries major weight.

It really is irrelevant. No one is beating UGA this year anyways.

Nov 6, 2022, 9:23 PM

SEC is vastly overrated this year. UGA is not as good as last year, not even close. Stop buying the hype.

Bama should have more losses than what they do and Bama is the logic for the jump for Tenn and LSU. West has losses to Liberty and App State. West leader has a loss to fsu who is 3rd or 4th in acc Atlantic.

The SEC has had 9 different teams in the TOP 10 this season, 9….9! It’s the media circus.

If we have a 1 in 10 shot to put a complete game together vs UGA then why not us? Missouri almost got them so did Kent State. We don’t play them in Athens and we get weeks to prepare.

Maybe we should just cancel the football program based on some of you.

I'd like us to decide on a starting quarterback before we sign up to play top 5 teams.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

From what I've seen to date - no one is gonna beat UGA

Nov 6, 2022, 9:34 PM

unless they have some major injuries. They are a solid football team led by an experienced winner at the QB position that is perfectly in tune with their offensive scheme. IMO Stetson Bennett is very under-rated and should be in the Heisman conversation as much as Hendon Hooker.

As far as who I would rather Clemson play in bowl season - someone new. I'm tired of us playing the SEC - we do it every year (many times we play multiple SEC teams in a year) and I'd rather play someone we rarely/haven't played like Michigan or the real USC.

We aren't going to jump from 12 to 4 and make the playoffs this late in the season. Going undefeated from here and playing ALA or LSU in the Orange Bowl is the best we can hope for.

Playoffs. Always take the playoffs.

Even if we think we would get clobbered. Playoffs.

I don’t think we will make it, but we certainly could if we finish 12-1 with an ACC championship.

We aren't good. Let it go. We are a top 25 team and we belong nowhere near the playoff. The ACC sucks and we are above average at best. We would be be a .500 team in the SEC. We aren't good.

Nov 7, 2022, 6:27 AM

no part of the CFB playoff this year. We’ll get embarrassed and it will further perpetuate the notion that Clemson is done as an elite team. Win out in regular season, beat UNC in ACC CG and play a good SEC team in the Orange or Sugar. And I’m 100% behind getting Clubnick as many snaps as possible. This is officially his team now. Don’t see any scenario where DJ is back next year.

With the team I saw yesterday? Using that same playbook? I'd just as soon we decline a bowl bid as to not be laughed at on New Year's Day.

I feel like, from start to finish, our all-around best game of the year was against NCSU. If we play THAT way, I think we have a chance against LSU/Bama. I still don't think we keep it close against Georgia. I think it looks like UGA's opener against Oregon. We just don't belong this year, and I hate to sound like I-told-you-so, but the writing was on the wall when Dabo constantly says "DJ is our starter" the same way he says "Streeter is our OC." His loyalty will doom him.

We need actual coaches on the sidelines and not a reunion tour of ex-players that may not be gainfully employed doing anything else in life.

Re: We go 12-1 and win the ACC, here are your choices…

Nov 7, 2022, 4:26 PM

Sorry for still wanting the playoff even in a bad year.

If we just take away the block kick td and pick 6 (we were wide open in the end zone and ended up being a 14 point swing)

We are right there, even having played our worst game of the year on the road at ND with crazy wind.

Then maybe y’all would say we have a shot at the playoff. ND is a QB away from being a playoff team themselves, they were pre-season #6 for a reason.

I’m just saying, let’s see how they respond to the loss. We should win out. ND will move up in the rankings. FSU will too.

We are 8-1 if we win out we have a great shot at top 4.
