Not sure if any of you watched UGA last night, but they are a steamroller of a team. Their backs are lightning fast, their O and D lines stout. They also have a sharp freshman kicker. I love the Tigers, but we aren’t close to being elite. I don’t think our personnel are close to UGA-caliber on the field. Beyond coaching issues, I think we’ve missed on recruiting such studs. Thoughts?

Our defense can stand toe to toe with them. If the offense can continue to improve, we can make a game of it. I'm glad we get them in the opener next season. That gives us an advantage to catch them early before they get into mid-season form.
It will still be a tall order but I think it will be a war and very competitive.

this year was a teaching moment for Dabo and his fairly green coaches. I have no doubt that they will open the season very prepared next year. The terrible start may have actually been a blessing this year

Was yesterday also the first time you watched the Tigers this year? Not sure any reasonable person would try to place this year's 4 loss Clemson team in the same category with UGA unfortunately. I do believe that Clemson can get back to that level quickly though!

But does it matter? Clemson is playing for pride the rest of the way and, if they can finish strong, can go into game 1 next year with bad intentions for UGA.

Our d is in the same league. Offense isn’t close. The biggest thing they have is an elite Oline. I don’t think their WR are elite but they are solid. QB is solid college level player. RBs are very good. I think ours are as well. TE’s are elite.
Not sure how to fix Oline issues other than coaching. I just don’t think TA is ready. We have seen in two weeks how solid OLine play can help us.

Uga is no doubt one of the top 2-3 teams this year no argument… but ole miss is very flawed also and were overhyped big time… just take a minute and look at their schedule and who they actually struggled with , their only good win was barely beating lsu who is very mediocre and they struggled with teams like Arkansas, tamu, and auburn…. All pretty bad teams. Again I’m not saying uga is not great I’m just saying I wouldn’t take much from that game yesterday other than they showed up and took care of business. Ole miss defense is atrocious and they aren’t physical enough up front to beat a team like uga while on offense. Now if uga does that bama in the sec champ game, that would be very impressive ImO.

about any team. Take our big matchup Sat against a ranked UNC squad. Took them 2 OTs to beat App St, 2 OTs to beat Duke. Lost to Virginia(!) and Ga Tech. I can't find a "quality win" on their schedule. But if we beat em on Sat, nobody will bring all that up....

Uhh beating a barely ranked unc two loss team is not taken like beating a top 10 one loss ole miss team im sorry it’s just not hyped anywhere close to the same… and just from me if we beat unc it’s a win we should have I would never try to argue that it was some great win, I feel like our defense should slow them down and we should be able to pound it on the ground, I bet we will be favorites and there’s a reason for that !

Clemson is not elite right now. We should have been a 10 win top ACC tier team, not Elite CFP. The Duke game was shocking, and it took all season to start a recovery. Last nite ESPN compared 4 and 5 stars players on UGA and Ole Miss, it was like 45 to 18! Clemson would be up there with UGA. However, our OL and skill players lag in numbers and quality compared to UGA. Offense and kicking problems need to improve to become elite. The labor day 2021 game vs. UGA exposed us.
UGA is a complete team and elite, but UA may beat them. The talent gap has narrowed with the transfer portal, but does Clemson have the will or $$$ to utilize it? UW is not the same team w/o QB-Pennix, FSU-Jordan, O-Nix, etc. The QB is the cornerstone of the offense, but with players around him, I believe Cade will be very good, possibly elite. Needs more help around him. 2023 regret is that the Clemson Coaches did'nt have a greater sense of urgency earlier. Not sure how many players out there were true freshman yesterday? What factored into the player changes, loyalty to upperclassmen, experience, eligibility, injuries. We know that players and playcalling have improved the last two weeks!

You never hear stories out of Clemson about coaches needing $1000 cash while entertaining recruits, or employing another coach whose sole function is to intervene with law enforcement on behalf of players and staff.
They are in another orbit, for sure. I’m glad we aren’t in it.

Beat Vandy by 17 while 4-6 SC just beat them by 41. UGA is good (#2 in CFP rankings), but has their good days and not so good days like most good teams this year with the parity in college football.

What's the point in posting that on TNet? There is no sure thing. I just finished watching the special about Clemson's 1981 national championship team. NO ONE outside of Clemson believed that the Tigers could beat the defending national champs, UGA. History tells a different story. (Herschel Walker was on that team.)

They are impressive.
But Ole Miss has zero defense and like several teams in SEC this year (Tenn, UF, LSU, even Bama) have a good bit of fraud in them.
So let UGA play a tougher opponent first. It might be Bana in SEC championship game,, but I think Bana should be ranked lower than several 2 loss teams.
