Wasnt able to watch the game

Just looking at the stats I don’t know how we only lost by 10 shooting 36% from the floor and 5% (!?) from beyond the arc.

I see PJ fouled out and he always seems to be in foul trouble and numerous times with inexcusable fouls. Not sure if that was the case this game but if so, he’s got to clean that up quick because every team is going to pick on him trying to get him out and forcing us to be even more perimeter-based on offense.

Looks like game was tied and half and close until about 4 minutes left. Curious how those that watched felt—did it feel like a close game or did it seem like we were just barely staying within reach until the last few minutes came where we finally just couldn’t hold on any longer.

I’m concerned as our offense went cold but the defense seems to have showed up. Our defense has not been solid consistently this year but perhaps this game will carry forward into the future. I still can’t get over the poor 3pt percentage—were the shots contested or were our guys really just that cold?

Was good to see we didn’t try and shoot 40 threes but that’s about all the good I see from the offensive side of things.

Still think the team can make the Tourney and make some noise but IMO it begins and ends with PJ and he clearly didn’t have a good game today.

It was close and very competitive for 37 minutes.

We played with great effort. I thought our energy was good, and our defensive effort was outstanding. That was good to see since we didn’t play great defensively against Miami on Wednesday.

PJ was really off today. He didn’t shoot well. He forced some bad shots and was outplayed by Bacot. He didn’t get into the game emotionally either. I thought Brad did a good job trying to rest him at key times to allow him to hopefully regroup, but it didn’t matter.

Girard was really off too. At least he made some decent shots inside, but his outside game never got going.

I was impressed with UNC’s defense. They frustrated us and forced us into some bad shots. We also had plenty of good looks that we just didn’t make.

This is the kind of game when we needed Hemenway to come in and make a big outside shot or two, or at least be another guy the defense has to respect from outside. Dillon Hunter is a good defender and ball handler, but the defense doesn’t respect his outside shot.

Depth would’ve obviously helped too. I feel that part of our issue right now is getting worn down late in games. Getting healthy for the first time all year really needs to happen.

While beating UNC in basketball isn’t something we are supposed to do, I really hoped we would be able to pull it off today. I’m disappointed we lost, but believe that we will have a chance to redeem ourselves again them soon.

This is another “good loss” that doesn’t hurt our NET and hopefully gives us some extra motivation to continue to improve and ultimately be better as a result.
