VT or UNC in the ACCCG?
Oct 28, 2016, 9:24 AM

Both still have GT and Duke... I think they both sweep those teams. That leaves UNC vs NCST and VT vs UVa (with VT owning the tie breaker). Looks like it will be VT out of the Coastal. Heres hoping they win out bc we need them highly ranked when we beat them for the title.

We need to be #1 for the final rankings so we will play in Atlanta for the semi finals. Send Bama out west. Go Tigers.

In being #2 or #4. In your scenario we could end up at #4 and have to play Bama in the semis. We DO need as many signature wins as we can get.

end up with the 4 seed. That would include a win over Lewisville, win at Auburn, win at Tally and an ACC Championship. Even if VT is ranked somewhere around 25, we still have a great resume, possibly the best resume of all those in the top 4 by end of the season. Also, I'm not so sure it wouldn't be better to play Bama in the semis, gives us more time to game prep for that one. To win it all we'd probably have to beat them anyway.

FSU and Auburn wont be quality wins as both will have 3-4 losses.

Yes they will...if FSUs only extra loss is to us and Auburns is to Bama then they'll both still be top 15 teams come seasons end.
That said, I'll take anyone in Atlanta over having to go to Phoenix; don't care if we're the 1 or the 4 seed. It's unlikely that we'll be either though.

To be the best you have to beat the best. It doesnt matter if we play them in the Semis or the Finals.
Stop thinking like a coward.

It's the 2016-2017 redemption tour - revenge wins at FSU, GT, and Glendale AZ before wrapping it all up in Tampa.

That won't change, even if we play a 6-6 team in the ACCCG.

Going into the CFP selection. Beating a Top 10-15 VT will look more impressive than beating an unranked/20-25 VT team.

seed heading into the playoffs. It's that simple. Now, lose Saturday night and it's a different story and at that point, yes a highly ranked VT would be helpful.

Mich will def be #2. Who gets #3 bt us and UW? Tell me the committee wouldnt love to have a rose bowlesque UM vs UW matchup out west with us and Bama in ATL, with the possibility of their dream match up of UM vs Bama in the Natty.

After a hard fought victory over the tide? We are the 2 best teams, our game should be for all the marbles.

That's all. We don't need style points. The wins over Auburn, UL and a win over FSU will be enough the rest of the way for a 2 or 3 seed.
One game at a time though. Looking past Saturday night is pointless anyway. We don't even know where we will when the committee announces their first rankings.

Clemson in Camping World KOA campground stadium. Hokies will have a much longer road trip and unc aka university of chapel hill in blue heaven will be self consumed by then with b-ball.
As always a lot of Clemson Tiger Orange and a lot of and cheap tickets and empty seats on the other side.
And Yes we do win out!
