NET ranking change for UVA tomorrow will really show how much efficiency matters. This is a Quad 1 loss so wouldn’t have done much damage. But getting beaten by twice the margin of any other major team VT has beaten could make it sting.

Both of these teams have lost to 150 NET / 192 RPI Notre Dame. “Good” teams do not get doubled up on. Virginia also lost by 24 to Wisconsin, 23 to Memphis, 16 to NC State, and 19 to Wake Forest. They are not good yet sit in 3rd place in this dumpster fire of a conference. They were projecting as a 9 seed (A 20 win ACC team with 4 games left only projects as a 9 seed!) before tonight. Tomorrow they’ll be back on the bubble. When they close 2-2 they will be well outside the bubble and drag the rest of the conference down because they will, in all likelihood, still be in 3rd place. No one currently tied for 4th is likely to go 5-1 to catch them. Clemson or FSU would need to go undefeated to simply tie UVA if they close 2-2, which is mathematically only possible for one.

UVA? Maybe the ACC will be 3 bid conference. The Cavs are a Jekyl and Hyde team. Did they lose their one good scorer to an injury?
