Vegas still disrespecting Clemson

Jan 11, 2017, 9:55 AM

how the f*#% does Louisville have better 'Odds' than we do? Yes we lose Watson, but they lose almost everyone BUT Lamar, who was exposed to be a huge fraud in the last 4 games of the regular season.

Vegas still not learning their lesson after that NCG...but that just plays right back into our hands.

How is it disrespect? They have a better QB situation than we do. Not to mention we are losing so much. I don't see it as disrespect. If Watson were coming back we would be favored.

Lamar Jackson...or...Cooper/Johnson/Brice/Bryant

I'll take our QB situation over theirs all day. Jackson was proven to be a fraud.

A bit harsh there on LJ

It's not his fault he won the Heisman. He did the best he could do and didn't attempt to fool anyone. Probably a good kid overall...I know, he ain't Watson but very few are.

That won't be an easy game to win in Loserville. They are pissed to be 0-3

Our defense is going to be eager to shut down Lamar. He has a huge target on his back.

If you notice, ever single team there is returning a QB....Even Michigan who is losing something like 15 or 16 starters.

Vegas puts a high mark on returning QBs. Its not necessarily disrespect, but years of analysis and data they have.

Vegas never disrespects anybody!! Odds are not set by

Jan 11, 2017, 10:56 AM

Oddsmakers in Vegas with any bias. Odds set are simply a reflection of public opinion, so if anybody is disrespecting us, it is likely the rest of the nation.

If Vegas puts us as a TD underdog to Bama, they are not saying they believe that Alabama will win by a touchdown, they are saying that 50% of the general public believes Bama will win by a at least 7 and 50% believe Clemson will either win or not get beat by more than a touchdown.

The goal of Vegas is to keep the money even; every game having even money on each side. They live off of 5% of the total bet. The books really don't care who wins or loses.

Vegas knows there are certain teams that naturally get a public bump because of number of fans and general perception...the Irish, the Buckeyes, Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and Tide. Vegas does not always believe they are as great of teams as the line set, but they do factor in the public bias and reflect it in the line...once again the goal is even money splits, which is an uphill battle with perception bias.

I love it when we are underdogs. It makes winning sweeter.
