We've all seen and heard about the hats...seems our feathered friends are taking it a step further to let their SEC sisters know how they feel...
COOTLUMBIA, Sou. Car. (AP) –An unprecedented marketing ploy by South Carolina University has ESPN and SEC (ESecPN) talking heads giddy. The “Changing Traditions” initiative, spearheaded by the Ol Ball Sack, hopes to reignite a stagnant fan base. Pauline Finebaum explains, "heck yea we're excited. The Gamecocks have always fought to support our conference...doesn't matter that they've never won anything...Bama and the SEC has." He continued, "without any tradition of their own they've really shown what it means to be conference supporters...incorporating these new traditions should keep them #1 in conference loyalty."
Although still in the preplanning stage, a few of these new traditions were unveiled Wednesday. Instead of yelling “Go C ocks” fans are being encouraged to yell “ROLL C ocks!” Perhaps the most cutting edge new tradition is the adapting of visiting teams fight songs. For example, for the UT game, Rocky Top will become Cocky Top:
Wish that I was on ole Cocky top, Down near the dilapidated mills, love the extinguisher smoke on Cocky top, Just wish we had a hill.
Once there was a girl on Cocky top, Half bald the other half fat. thick as a skink, drunk as a skunk, sportn' her CockTide hat.
Cocky top, you'll always be Home sweet home to me. Good ole Cocky top, Cocky top Willy B, Cocky top S – E – C!
