Also - who was using Netscape in 2007?

BCBS SC was still using a Netscape web server in 2007

And I know this because I built the servers in 2001, and could still log into them remotely.

I don't think I'd call Gopher or Lynx "web browsers".***

Gopher was a gopher browser. But Lynx used http, so yes it was a web browser

but only text-based. Gopher predates the web a few years. 1993-1994 I used lynx. 1995 graduated to Netscape.

I remember at BCBS SC found that command and figured out the syntax to send it. We had to make a GPO to turn it off on all the workstations. I think they deleted it from later images, and its not on newer Windows versions.

To run punch tape programs count?

Used AOL in the late 80s for chat and some kind of bbs through Clemson but that wasn’t truly a browser on the www, I guess Netscape was my first.

I was so let down when I saw that "server" sitting on a pallet in the depths of the P&A building.

Old screwdriver shop tower computer that had about 8 100mb drives all striped because it was so old and slow. Had about 8GB of RAM in it. I think it was running the first version of BSD or something equally free/cheap.

I bet my Iphone 7 phone was faster.

Most of that stuff was gone when I got there, but P&A looked identical to when I was there in the late 80's. Cubbies on the wall for finished print jobs, same desk, same chair.

And the guy who uploaded that video was still there, too--at least when I worked there in '15-'16. He owned the CMDB.
