UpState Bird hunting

from the Dude Haus as many days as possible this month. This is the best few weeks of the year to see something new or one not seen for a year. It is very exciting for me.

Just now my yard was flooded with Robins and Waxwings. It is sorta like being in that Alfred Hitchkok movie.
In Winter birds tend to flock. I generally get flocks of these in later Winter to my huge Pyracantha crop, but lost all of those trees. Today they are just here for the water. Mixed in are a few Red-winged Blackbirds.
I tell folks to forget food, just put out water -> no one listens.

Maybe they didn't get the message about your Pyracantha crop being destroyed. Anyway, it's nice to have a place to stop in for a cool drink. Especially now. Drier than a (fill in the blank) here in the Upstate.

Great shots. I wish I had your variety of birds. I'm limited to sparrows, titmice, blue jays, cardinals, and chickadees.

That is great. It aint the variety of birds, but the ones who show often and become friends.
I rarely see an Eagle, but am greeted by a Chickadee all the time.

hanging out on our property, they have been here for a few weeks now. Balding eagles cab be identified by the lack of feathers on thier head, thus the name balding eagle.

I was expecting grouse or quail, maybe doves. But these are pretty too. <img border=">

Not to complain, but I used to have Quail here under the bird feeder.
It was funny as when disturbed they would run out of the yard instead of flying.

Snowbirds have moved in and cut down all the trees etc and put in lawns.
Birds had to move on.
