Unimportant but curious as to why almost all of our former

Nov 27, 2022, 7:38 AM

players who are now in the NFL and make it back to Clemson for a home game almost never wear any Clemson garb. Take yesterday for instance... Andrew Booth had a Star Wars T-shirt on - no orange or paw displayed anywhere. Even Charlie Whitehurst who was an honorary captain yesterday didn't wear any Clemson gear at all. I've noticed this same thing when DW4, Shaq Lawson, and others came back to attend a Clemson games as well.

For some reason this seems to be a trend - so what gives? Why not wear your school colors with pride when you can finally make it back to Clemson for a game?

About the only Dabo era player I can recall wearing Clemson gear at a game is Hunter Renfrow. I'll also give Christian Wilkins some small credit for when he was the guest picker on Gameday he did manage to put a small tiger paw pin on his vest. But still - why not wear some orange Clemson gear like the rest of us?

My guess is because it's frowned upon

To support your team in the media box. Since these guys are making media appearances I assume they wear neutral colors.

Just a guess though.
