3698/ 32 TDs/ 8 INTs - Can Cade even come close to touching those numbers in year 3?

Not if we keep dropping balls in our hands like Saturday. There were I believe 3 guys who dropped uncontested catchable balls. I heard it was because of hand flu. We must cure this disease

No….unless we hit the portal jackpot on a couple offensive linemen.

TCU Offense 2023 Draft Picks and UDFAs

WR: Quentin Johnston: Los Angeles Chargers (Round 1, Pick 21)
OL: Steve Avila: Los Angeles Rams (Round 2, Pick 36)
RB: Kendre Miller: New Orleans Saints (Round 3, Pick 71)
WR: Derius Davis: Los Angeles Chargers (Round 4, Pick 125)
QB: Max Duggan: Los Angeles Chargers (Round 7, Pick 239)
OL: Alan Ali: Minnesota Vikings
WR: Taye Barber: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
RB: Emari Demarcado: Arizona Cardinals
WR: Gunnar Henderson: New Orleans Saints

Until the talent and production of Clemson's roster looks like that, no.

Maybe it is b/c UGA shut them down in the CFP Championship, but TCU doesn't get credit for how good that offensive team was.

Looks like to me maybe we should have let Garrett Riley try and bring the OL and WR coach with him. Because none of those recruits were rated as high as the recruits we have on campus.

Even if our "on paper" rated players were all miss evaluations, that's still on the coaches.

need to start really working on that side of the ball. I don't see a single player currently on offense that will sniff a NFL roster. Compare that to our defense and you can see why the D is national championship quality and the offense is at best, middle of the pack.

I sure hope Dabo tracks and trends who recruits who and which recruit is a hit and miss. Grading coaches for recruiting is as important as what they do at practice or during games. If they are not properly evaluating talent, they need to learn or be replaced. Some recruits can be coached up and others are just a bust.

As the company I worked for said, what gets tracked and trended, gets fixed.

If the question really is, can he?

I think the answer is yes.

TCU was a senior laden team with a Qb who had 32 starts under his belt while Clemson this year was led by JRs at RB, FR at WR, and a Soph QB who entered the year with just 1 start.

We have the talent at WR, they are just young. Brown anb Williams are legit. Collins is a solid player and Wesco coming is looks like an absolute baller.

These things don't happen over night, especially with such a young offensive unit.

So yes, he can, will he? Time will tell.

TCU
Max Duggan
2019 181/339 53% 2077 Yards 15 TDs 10 INT
2020 146/240 61% 1795 yards 20 TD 4 INT
2021 145/227 64% 2048 yards 16 TD 6 INT (with RILEY)
2022 267/419 64% 3698 yards 32 TD 8 INT (with Riley)

Clemson
Cade Klubnick
2023 260/413 63.0% 2580 yards 19TD 8 INT

Looks like 60-65% is right on par with the QB's he has coached. Duggan and Klunnick 1st year stats are pretty similar under Riley.

I'd say the most improvement on the offense needs to be made in red zone efficiency and holding on to the dag gum ball.

Different conference, different offensive scheme and different defenses.

That's one of those nonsense stats that have no anchor to the reality of the two situations.
