Today is my 28th day

Apr 28, 2014, 12:10 PM

without a smoke. I find it unbelievable that they send heroin addicts home after 28 days of rehab. I WANT NICOTINE.

I'd like to make a suggestion, if you'll kindly allow me.

Apr 28, 2014, 12:17 PM

It might be a good exercise for everyone involved if you could find your way to getting hooked on heroin, and then write an essay comparing and contrasting the withdrawal processes. I feel like this would be a very popular post in the Jounge....IF you remember to bold the important parts, of course.

good for you,but I has a question being a lifelong nonsmoker

Apr 28, 2014, 12:42 PM

what compels a person to want to freely draw toxic smoke into their lungs? I mean, making someone smoke a cigarette against their will would qualify as cruel and unusual torture by Geneva Convention standards. Why do people do this by choice?

I just never, ever had the urge to do this, and I can't understand or comprehend it.

and not even comparable. Alcohol can help you sleep, put you in a better mood, help you get laid, all sorts of good things. Smoking has absolutely no benefits, takes years off your life and makes you smell bad.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Smoking helped get me laid plenty in college.

Apr 28, 2014, 1:07 PM

When you are unathletic, somewhat unattractive, and not very funny, you have to use any tools at your disposal to seem cooler than you are.

In the 20+/- years since college, it hasn't really been necessary.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ah.

Apr 28, 2014, 2:18 PM

You came to grips with being unathletic, somewhat unattractive, and not very funny.

There was a time when I always carried a lighter with me.

One never knows when he'll need to light a lonely woman's cigarette, then start talking about what they came to forget.

I hit day 104 today. Best decision ever.

Plus I can get it up easier and my pewp is much browner.

That may or may not be related.

Good job- I know it was hard. I smoked for twenty years.

I have never had a problem with either of those things.

Apr 28, 2014, 3:20 PM

That's after using for the overwhelming majority of the last 15 years. It's a heckuva lot easier now than it was 43 days ago, if that's any solace. The cravings are admittedly still there, but while using would provide a much-needed mood modulator, I simply don't NEED it like I used to need it. That is a positive and, besides, to use now would mean the last 10 weeks have been for naught.

Regardless, good luck to you!
