To the people still screaming about getting a WR

Y’all do realize the WRs are about to look completely different right?? Riley does a really good job using motion and scheming his guys open. He only had one really good WR at TCU and he always had him open. Now imagine what he’s going to do with Beaux,Randall, and especially Williams. Also Noble isn’t a slouch by any means and will also be able to use Turners speed to take the top off of the defense. Yes we don’t have the guys we use to but we’ve also been calling plays the past two years like we did. Absolutely can’t wait to get to the spring game.

Exactly with the right scheme idk how a team is gonna cover Beaux,Randall, Williams and Brinningstool. Especially with having Ship/Mafah in the backfield and Cades accuracy and ability to keep the defense honest with his speed.

and the playoffs.
Too many moving parts sometimes, just aren't necessary and sometimes when they are, it is as a crutch. Similar in ways to BV trying to help/protect Stephone Anthony, before finally having to bench him.
Excitedly, whatever Coach Riley and staff works up, it'll be a two-ticket ride watching it unfold.
I hope it is all for the best.

No. KB2 & the offense did exactly what was asked of them.

Keep to the script[his leash wasn't long], reduce TO from prior year and protect the defense, be game managers.
It's exactly why he beat Hunter Johnson out, because Hunter had a penchant for losing his way & putting the ball at risk. Sometimes "greatness" isn't in what you do, but what you don't.
That's coaching and players executing, including KB2.

undisciplined, one of only 2 times since theChad Clemson avg. over 6 turnovers. More moving parts might have been a tough ask?
The staff took credit for one of DJU's interceptions, he was being told where to go with the ball. Seems they took a lot off his plate in '21.

smaller quicker receivers we have coming in - Kelley and Brown - as well. Would love to see some quickness and speed in the open field gashing defenses.

Quickness and speed not necessarily size is needed in his scheme. Willingness to catch the ball in traffic is needed. I believe Williams will greatly benefit.

Absolutely I’m calling it now Williams and maybe one other will have 1000 yard season. I absolutely believe Williams will because his style is going to benefit tremendously he will be used as a mismatch nightmare

There is a bad thing about having Garrett to come to Clemson, and that is Clemson will be his biggest stepping stone, and he will only be at Clemson for a couple of years before he will be hired away as a HC....

And??? Everyone has been screaming that Dabo needs to be like Saban and this is a Saban move. There’s no way they haven’t had the conversation about him wanting to be a HC Dabo doesn’t make rash decisions he has to have a plan. Also really wouldn’t be surprised if he does well that Dabo doesn’t try to set him up to takeover for him.

ALLORAN: That's the price you pay. If he leaves in two years...probably means he was wildly successful...a win/win. I wouldn't discount CLEMs ability to pay him ALOT more to keep him here. Maybe this way, he will see staying at CLEM making ±$3M better than taking a small-time job...rather than a major one like BV did with OU.

Coaching at a high level has to start with experience, and without it, it's just coaching practice to be a coach.

I said it before the coaching change! Our WRs are going to look a helluva lot better with a quarterback who can throw the ball with a little finesse. Jerry Butler and Perry Tuttle would have had a tough time catching DJ's darts.

If we need to roll with who we have at receiver, we can still win, but I would have been more comfortable with Ngata back or by picking up a WR1/2 level piece from the portal. Williams showed a lot of promise and Collins did his part when healthy, but Randall is not a sure thing and no one else has performed consist for an entire season. Not saying players won’t step up, but our WR is not yet proven at a championship level and adding a depth piece reduces risk.

Our offense should look markedly better. Hoping for a lot more motion and better route trees as well.
That still doesn’t take away from the fact that we have largely under performed in wide receiver recruiting the last few years…. given the standard/moniker of WRU. I can’t remember the last time we beat Hartline for a wide receiver recruit. There’s no reason that you can’t do both…… out coach people AND have better talent. Hopefully Randall rounds into form, and Cole Turner can continue to make progress from his promising start. But make no mistake, Dabo KNOWS that room has to improve talent wise. He knows making this type of hire should attract elite WR talent.
As I have continued to harp on over the past several months, I think you were going to see some more changes ….particularly in how we handle recruiting and how we handle offers

Do you ever think that our receivers haven’t looked very good because of the quality of QB play we have witnessed over the past two years? I love me some Artavis Scott, but he looked a lot better based on the placement of balls he was getting from DW4. I bet our guys will look better with an experienced Cade Klubnik throwing the ball.

Not sure if you are talking to me...but of course, that's part of the reason....you saw that with Ngata's increased production. But like most things, there are multiple layers to every problem. We, without a DOUBT, have an issue with WR talent at CLEM compared to where it was. We lack true deep threats and have for the past several seasons.
Again, as I keep harping, more changes are coming. Dabo sees the problem in that room....its in the process of getting fixed. You should see that, partially, in how we will offer WR recruits, and recruits from other rooms.
