tickets for their home game vs. Auburn can be had for less than $50 on StubHub (40 yard line on the home side of the stadium). SMH

Screw Calford.

Someone posted a photo of Stanford's stadium the week after they beat Notre Dame and their crowd looked smaller than a HS team. Maybe they're all at home watching in the Meta-Verse. I heard they're into that sort of thing out there.

My ex-business partner was a Cal-Berkeley grad

That was a BIG mistake. Not a good person.

If he's emblematic of their university it's worse than you already think.

They don't get "it", or anything else.

My sister-in-law is a Cal Berkeley grad, too. She may as well be an alien. She's a psycho.

Clemson @ Auburn 2010

Sep 1, 2023, 9:47 AM

Apropos of nothing, I walked up to the ticket booth in Auburn 30 minutes before kickoff and bought 3 tickets at face value. This was the game where Cam Newton essentially beat us by himself in OT. Auburn went undefeated that season and won the National Championship.

I'd say a $50 ticket for the Cal-Auburn game isn't surprising at all. Have you ever been to Berkeley? They could pack the house if they offered a free joint and a free hotdog. There's enough homeless people in the immediate area to give them a truly intimidating home field advantage, should they get aggressive in recruiting those 'fans'.

What is intriguing to me is what a team like Stanford could do if their alumni base decides to invest in football and NIL. They could wipe the floor with the rest of the ACC within 2-3 years.

I don't like this deal any more than the rest of y'all. But, Clemson is backed into a corner for the next 13 years and the best they can do is try to squeeze out more money anyway possible. Thems the facts.

As I remember when we played Cal years ago in Florida

many of their fans were Oriental. Rush used to call them the West Coast branch of the Kremlin.

Could be wrong, but 5 of their regular-season games were streaming-only and 4 of them were on the ACC Network. They also had 2 games on FS1 and 1 game on ESPN2.

To be fair Cal played ND, Oregon and Southern Cal last season. Which means, based on averages for those schools, they only had to average about 300k in the other 9 games to reach that total.

Duke on the other hand didn’t play Clemson, FSU or ND.

For comparison any ACC school playing Clemson, FSU and ND in the same season would only need to average 276k per game to reach that total. Based on the numbers it is still not a good look for VT, UVA, and Duke.
