DAVID HOOD: I appreciate you! You have represented CLEMSON FOOTBALL for as long as I have known TO=igernet. You have covered the team (mostly) neutral.
I can just tell... this one hurt. It hurt all of us on the fanzone end, and I can just hear it in your voice, man.... this is not Clemson football, and everyone from the hills to the coast knows it.
BUT
I want to thank you for being an amazing and professional reporter...
I have been a Clemson boy since I was a... boy... Maybe I stil am at 40... I watched as we lost to GT and NCst back in the day. I watched as BC gave us these hard nose games that the rest of the CFP mocked. I watched US(u)C's 5-peat. I watched FSU dominate us with Jamo...
And I watched 4th and 16 in the 2016 hick-fil-A Bowl...
The game that made our push to NATIONAL TITLE CONTENTION.
And I watched as we let Joe Burrow dig through every BV coverage scheme and blitz scheme like it was soft butter on the way to a 2020 CoViD sEaSon EnDiNg...

I watched GT bust DeShawn's leg on TV... Dirty hit...
I watched Deshawn bust the 5-peat vs US(u)C on that very same hobbled leg! IN $^%^*%*^&#$^# PERSON (top 3 moments in my life next to my marriage and my baby boy being born)!
I was there in person when Clemson beat Lu'vull in the first EVER meeting (and if anyone wants to see my face and my cousin/best friend's face, watch the 2016 4th down stop in death valley when Clemson won vs WILL GARDNEER at the goal-line stance ---- we were the faces the ESPN-U broadcast showed at the moment of truth when the crowd hit the (at the time) record decibel level for DV! ---- where we won with only a Grady Jaret fumble TD and an Adam Humphreys' Punt TD, in the game where D Wat went out with a broken finger and 3 and Stoudt somehow held on to win thanks to our BV Defense and in the same season put up 6 tds (thank God) against Oklahoma, but on that 4th stop to win the game in the west zone and the crowd was "as loud as any croud 'I've' ever heard", that was US that ESPN-U showed on National Broadcast (and the little 10 year old red/orange haired kids jumping off our back in the stands behind us)!
We were there in 2016 BCS Bowl vs Ohio State when Tajh %^$& Boyd (My favorite human being in the world --- thanks for signing that autograph at the DI-Club Big "I" Tourney for my wife) Ran that 48 yard TD! Me and TWO of my cousins were there and my boy from the DI Club who was a UGA fan (and rooted for us like we were his home team, thank you Ian)! I swore to Ian I would root as hard as he did for Clemson when UGA got to their spotlight chance and I DID!
Long story short, we (my family and even my UGA friends --- your welcome for the free miami trip, now repay the debt homey) are the DIEHARDS OF THE DIEHARDS.... And through all these years, DAVID HOOD has given us the BEST coverage of CLEMSON FOOTBALL. When we lost to Pitt, when we lost to GT, and all of these past 7 of 14 losses... David... Thank you.... For being the MAN and covering this team! For being a Homer (Thank you '81) as you are, and thank you for being as NON-BIAS as you ppssibly CAN be...
But this interview.... THIS loss.... I don't think I have ever seen that strong of emotion on your face... in your eyes...
Hopefully Dabo sees it and fixes the COACHING, LEADERSHIP, AND PERSONEL DEFECTION and decides to dip INTO THE TRANSFER PORTAL TO GET US BACK TO CENTER STAGE SOON!!!
Who cares about the Bandwagon fans!
Us Long time SUPERFANS (despite what ranking Tigernet show me as a scout, I just created an account this year) want to see this team beat UGA, BAMA, FSU, and Blow(HIO) State...
and we want to beat Brent V in the National Championship NEXT YEAR!!!! (Oh how good would that be)
Get it right DABO! Use the Portal! Use the NIL! Fix the coaching staff, sorry for the ones that gotta go, but you built this Clemson Brand up, don't let it dissolve!

Well said. Some of us “die hards” are also the ones complaining because we have the same memories and passion that you have. Some of us go back even further (not that it really matters). We know what Clemson football represents and what it is capable of.
4-4 is not acceptable. That doesn’t mean I’m quitting- but I personally know some fans who are. These are not bandwagon fans- these are fans Dabo and the program need.
I’ll be there Saturday pulling for the Tigers. But I’ll be watching with no expectations- for the same reason I sit through one of my kid’s graduations or one of their school plays. I know it will be painful to watch. I miss enjoying Clemson football- not just for tailgating and walking around campus with my dad.

It doesn’t seem likely that he would five Riley, who he just hired and is making nearly $2 million a year. If he fires Riley after the season, that would be two offseasons in a row firing an OC who has only had the position for one year.
Firing Goodwin would also be a shock since our defense has improved and, per Dabo’s comments, is championship caliber.
The only changes we are likely to see are a position coach or two be let go. Perhaps Grisham and Austin. Those aren’t major changes.
Dabo needs scapegoats at this point.

This is so ridiculous hearing these comments, I made these very same comments two years ago and nobody wanted to hear it. I have said exactly what's being said now two years ago, and my so-called T-Net friends don't even speak to me anymore on here bc I was calling out Dabo's hiring of so many inexperienced coaches expecting them to do what the coaches we lost was doing.
I saw and recognized what was happening bc it was sooooo clear that Dabo was clearing out office space naming those people coaches without any coaching experience. Dabo never once made any attempt to do a coaching search to replace experienced coaches with other experience coaches bc he had people in the offices he could call down and pay them much less money and call them coaches. Now everybody can see what cheap bought him, and it couldn't have turned out any other way, it was a wreck looking for something to crash into the very second he hire them as coaches in training, and our team has suffered bc of it!!!!

Look at how we ended the first half. On 3rd and long we ran a QB draw to settle for a 43 yard field goal attempt by a kicker who has proven (in games) that he can’t make a field goal in that situation.
