No one above us lost a series.

Baseball rankings don't really work like football or basketball. Single losses aren't particularly meaningful. Series losses are. Baseball rankings are notoriously stingy about dropping teams that didn't lose a series.

Winning against an SEC team does far less for the non-conference winner than it hurts the SEC loser. This is nothing new here. The only difference would have been if we were in the SEC and lost we would have simply just switched spots.
