Better draw but still makes zero sense. Once again, this regional BS with the 2 seeds needs to stop. In what world should the number 2 national seed have Coastal Carolina as a 2 seed? Give us a worse 2 seed along with Arizona as a 3

There is a lot of baseball left but I'm not sure if we would get a better 2 seed draw than Coastal. SEC teams are way deeper in the bullpen than most mid major schools.
There will be 10-11 SEC teams in the field of 64. Every one of those will be a 1 or 2 seed. You have 16 regional sites. At least 5-6 will be SEC teams. That leaves 5-6 SEC teams to be placed in the remaining 10-11 sites. You can take 2-3 of those sites out of the equation from a geographical standpoint. So that leaves 7-8 sites to host an 5-6 SEC 2 seeds. That means we will have a 70%-75% chance to face an SEC team in the regionals almost every year. That number jumps to about 80%-90% chance in Super Regionals. In short, to get to Omaha odds are that we have to beat 2 SEC teams.
Are the polls and rankings bias? Yes, to some degree. SEC schools spend waaaay more money on baseball as a conference than any other conference. It shows in recruiting and league play. Are the rankings fair to everyone else? Probably not, but it's not going to change anytime soon. All we can do is strive to be a top 8 seed. That way we insure homefield all the way to Omaha.

Sweep this weekend probably not going to happen (hope I am wrong), because we have never have done well in cool/cold weather. Chance of snow in South Bend in the morning with a high of 46 tomorrow with 20mph wind and by game time the next 2 days after that it will be in the upper 40's to low 50's with a good chance of rain Sunday afternoon!

I’d take either of those 2 regionals in a heartbeat. You’re not gonna find any easier 2 seeds than that, no disrespect to Costal or Northeastern. Hope the Tigers keep winning and make something like that a reality.
