Almost as alarming as the fact that we play no defense against good teams, is the fact that our own shooting and ball handling has fallen off the map as well. Several just flat out LAZY turnovers in that game last night. And, as usual, our guys lack that instinct of knowing when to stop trying to dribble into traffic, and just pull up and take the eight foot shot that is there instead.

I don't understand how chase hunter is still starting!! He is a black hole where possessions go to die. Clemsons best offense is bricking a shot and letting the chef get a putback layup.

I for one do not entirely blame our woes on coaching. You can draw up the perfect play on the clipboard and if the players don't execute it who is that on? The whole team is in a funk right now. Until they work their way out of it expect more of the same. The 64 dollar question is how long will it take?

Brownell in over his head - as per usual. How it’s not evident after 47 years is beyond my understanding. So sick of this crap.
Everything is difficult for this team now - even dribbling. It’s painful to watch. Even after taking out their best player we still looked we had no clue what we were doing. Va tech is not a good team. They are especially not good without their best player.

When PJ Hall has more 3pt attempts than anyone else on the team, NO FT Attempts, 1 Offensive Rebound. That is a coaching issue!
How can our guards drive to the basket and get fouled but our biggest/best player can’t post up and draw fouls? (Don’t tell me it’s the refs).
VA Tech had 2 players with 60pts combined. IF Brownell is a defensive minded coach then why did we not double team and push other players to take shots?
Against UNC Bacot had 4 fouls with 5 mins left. Any defensive minded coach should know that you want their best defensive player to foul out. Why didn’t we put more pressure in the paint against bacot?
I remember a couple of years ago when we were beat by NC State 2x when up by 20pts at HT.
We can list out ever year the facts. BROWNELL is a mid-major coach, nice, clean, says all the right things. Not a high level coach and will never be.
Neff will not put up with it and I truly believe that Dan gave him that contract before he left as he knew Neff would have made the change when he took over. The buy out gave brownell job security. The buy out each year becomes more palatable to find a new coach.(Just not sure it’s after this season or next)
We can keep expecting the same until a change is made. 😭

Well it looks like nothing has changed. Last year was the same. Strong start and poor finish. I know there’s a lot more bb to play but I see nothing to lead me to believe this year doesn’t end just like last year. Bring on Morehead St in the NIT

First is our defense. We don’t rotate quickly enough. And as great a shooter as Girard is, he’s a defensive liability. He’s not fast enough or tall enough to consistently guard athletic guards on the opposing team.
Second is our shot selection. While generally good, we have too many forced threes by Chase and PJ. I’d much rather see Girard or Wiggins shooting some of those.
Third is our depth. We are a tired team. We really need Clark back and healthy. Hemenway would help a lot too.
We need to keep our chin up. We can still have a good year but we need to weather this storm. Some easier games are coming up, starting with BC this weekend. It’s a must win in my opinion.

Then CBB comes out and says I don't know why the team can't play? That they didn't play defense in the first half?
3-game losing streak, oh-for-2024...but this is the "best team CBB has ever had!"
Add to that, two different players for VT managed to have CAREER HIGHS against CBB's "defensive-minded" schemes? A third player also chipped in a season high. But CBB is a brilliant defensive coach?
How many teams will Clemson play this year where someone has a career-high scoring night. Seems like it's happened twice in a row now, and two in this one game!
