Oh, it will, it most definitely will. I'm sure Dabo is sick and tired of the crap he's been witnessing from our offense over the last three years. The WR coach might be next.

I suspect that T.Austin was let go because of poor recruiting success.

2024 and 2025 classes are, quite frankly, full of OL holes because of recruiting whiffs.

Why do you guys want Adazio? Go read the TA&M forums and they are cheering his dismissal. It’s actually kinda similar to what’s going on in this thread.

I’m gonna ask a dumb question maybe but surely Thomas followed Caldwells footsteps after being under him for many years. How different could the coaching have been? Not that I don’t trust Dabo, but we’ve never really had great offensive line. I’m just personally curious. I hope we find someone good but I tend to believe that it’s more about the Jimmys and Joes than anything else.

Again, like Streeter, this is more of a Dabo failure than anything. However, props to Dabo for seeing the mistake and quickly resolving it. However, when you fire someone this quickly after a promotion, you misjudged. It happens...but hate it for Austin...a great Clemson man...

I know Dabo will help him land on his feet. Austin, IMO, will still have a great career as a coach--just taking a different path now.

I will still say, carrying only 15 OL in the OL room doesn't give hardly any room for error....does no favors to OL coach--whoever that may be...

Spot on Swarley. We're human and this, like last year proves that Dabo still has the fire... not that he needed to, I've just seen that posted a lot.

Dabo had a lot of moving pieces a couple years ago with Tony and Brent and other staff. It's hard to manage that change all at once. So looking back, he's taken care of business and a smoother transition.

Trust the process. This decade ain't over by a Longshot.

I totally agree, but take it it the wrong bc I care about Austin and will worry about until he lands another job, but Austin has never proved to be the coach that I thought he would be, plus he couldn't recruit either. Just go back and look at all the O Lineman that chose somewhere else over Clemson, and they were at the top or close to the top of our recruiting board and Austin couldn't get them, but I believe that an old man like Robbie Caldwell would have most likely got them if he would have still been our full time O L coach. Thomas Autin is and will always be a Tiger IMO, he just wasn't that good as a OL coach right now, but I'm sure he will become one of the top OL coaches in the country once he has some years of experience. Best of luck to you Thomas Austin, now go and get some experience as a coach!!!!

T.Austin’s biggest shortcoming had been poor recruiting success.

Our OL commitments (scarcity) in 2024 class and our bad start to 2025 class speak to T.Austin’s failure in this critical role for the non-coordinator assistant coaching gigs.

Serious question and I thought uga, osu, Bama, fla etc carried 15 scholarship ol and 5 non scholly. So apologies, I was wrong.

That said, apparently most big p5 schools carry more than 15. 18 for osu but most are the 20 as y'all said. So why does Dabo only carry 15 when it's the hardest position group? I don't recall him ever being asked why other schools do and we don't.
Thanks in advance.

Believe this was a necessary change to return the program to elite status.

That said, I'm very sure this wasn't a decision that was taken lightly by Dabo. & it's definitely not a red-letter day for Austin. We can say what we want to about him as a coach, but he was a Tiger through & through. All-ACC player for us, many years on staff as a GA & analyst, & I'm sure he was giving his best effort in his current role, just unfortunately didn't pan out for him.

Hope Austin lands on his feet somewhere and that he will find success in the future.

Last season, the Aggie offensive line allowed the most quarterback hits in the country with 44, according to Pro Football Focus. This season, the offensive front has allowed 32 quarterback hits, which ranks fourth most in the nation, per PFF. Never want to be praising someone losing their job, but the writing was on the wall on this one. Between a completely underdeveloped line, GR not being able to fully implement his offense because the line could block in his style, and the recruiting whiffs, this one was bound to happen. I just hope that now Garret can get the staff he needs under him and we can hit the portal hard for the line we need now and get back on track with future recruits at the line.

Curious to see if there will be changes in the WR room as well... not calling for it, but if it doesn't happen this year, the seat will be hot for next year for Tyler.
