Regardless of what anybody has to say, I think that the question of why this guy isn't the starting QB if he has been doing the same things in practice as he done in the spring game. I believe that with all fairness to the kid and the FAB Base that gives millions of dollars to the FB program year in and year out, Dabo should answer to why this kid hasn't been given a fair chase chance to lead the FB program on the field on whatever day the game will be played on.

From day one that Dabo has been the HC of the FB program, he has stated many times that the best 11 players at their position will be the starters. The ban base and everybody else that watch the spring game saw that Trent Pearman was the best QB on the field, and he played QB on both offenses so nobody can say that he was on the team that had the better offensive players bc his stats were from playing for both sides...

So, I ask why this kid is not our starting QB if he is the better than the other 2 QBs ahead of him, and him being the shortest in height just isn't a good enough reason bc our player on the offense is just as big as the players on the offensive side of the ball around the country. The best player should play regardless of if they are a walk on or a full scholarship player. Keep in mine if want to answer this question, Dabo's sons got to play when they were far from the best of whatever position they played, and yes they were never starters, but the reason for that was bc everybody knew they weren't close to being the best players at their position, but Pearman's son Trent is better than the other two QBs that will play before he ever gets a chance to play. It's not right no matter what way it can be twisted for an excuse...

He did the same thing in last year’s spring game. I’d describe it as “rink and dink”, taking what’s there, not trying to hit a big pass, throwing soft catchable balls. I was hoping he’d see the field last season.

In Dabo I (still) Trust.

He won’t get playing time and will transfer to another team.

If that's what he wanted to do, it seems like he would have already done that over waisting his time that he could have been playing...

I think it is more likely that Vizzina heads to the portal after limited snaps again this year and Pearman moves to the #2 spot. Based on what we saw Saturday, that may not be a bad thing.

I feel that same way bc the HC has always said the best player will play, and he keeps saying how good he is, and he's always mentioning the awards and championships that he won at the HS level, and Cade has had the for a full season but Trent out played him in the spring game. Just bc Cade is taller it doesn't make him more efficient than Trent when it counts... Throw him in and let him play if Cade can't get a grasp for all that a QB is supposed to do, and reading defenses is a must I would think, but the HC is the boss...

Dabo has only botched the starting QB situation once...

I don't see him doing it again.

Time will tell. Concerns are deeper than just QB anyway

I tend to agree Pheebo. Dabo wants to win at a high level. Look at the coaching changes. He also made the switch to Trevor. There's no way he sits back and watches Cade go out and perform badly game after game again without giving someone else a chance.

Moxie is kind of the kiss of death adjective where playing time is concerned.

It is amazing how so called fans react to different situations. For years, the naysayers have screamed and yelled about nepotism and local high school players every time something goes wrong with our team. Trent Pearman is as local as they get and now, people want him to start. Flags blow in the wind but fans should support Dabo and his decisions win, lose or draw.

Most everyone has heard about expectations for Klubnik and for Vizzina coming into this year. No expectations for Pearman. If someone is 3rd QB on the depth chart I can see playing loose with no worries. What we don’t know is who shows consistency in practice. Time will tell and I’m sure the best players will start. Glad Pearman had good spring game but can’t put stock in one performance. Here’s hoping everyone continues to improve. Go Tigers.

Pearman completely gets it -- he has also played himself into contention for the #2 QB role. First class performance and interview.

Great stuff as usual from DH, but the real story here, to me, is that

Pearman is more than just a kid with moxie, he was the best QB on the field Saturday. Can he drop 60-yd dimes? Can he throw it on a rope and thread the needle 40 yds downfield? I don't know, but I know the offense moves the ball a lot better with him at QB. I don't doubt Dabo and the other coaches, they know a million times more about football than me, but I know what I saw, and I don't know how having an arm like DJ or Josh Allen and being able to make an ocassional spectacular strong-armed throw with lots of mistakes and misreads and 3-and-outs is better than a QB who understands what to do and consitently moves the chains.

He proved it in high school. Maybe not this year, but time will tell. I could definitely see him being a chase Bryce or a Shockey? Or whoever that guy was at uga. Make the plays and find your playmaker all while not hurting your team.

As for the spring game, I can't tell anything because I have zero clue what Dabo and staff were looking for.

Trent's helmet in the pic looks more matte to me. Did they change up the helmets to a more flat orange versus shiny? I like it if they did.

He certainly passed the eye test. The other two looked unsure and slow in their reads. He made decisions and got the ball out quickly.

Give him a scholly, and let him compete in fall for second or even first

Give the other QB's some competition. They will have to improve, if not, give him first backup position and when Cade starts making mistakes, put him in there.
