An important position that goes unnoticed until he fails. Can't have a great punt or field goal without a good snap. We're fortunate to have him.

Jack Maddox was a star

That never got attention because he almost never made mistakes. He has been my favorite "behind the scenes" player for years because of that and the fact that he helped out a kid at a camp when his family and I connected on Tigernet a few years ago.

Yes he was! You never heard his name called because he never made a mistake, but Jack is the kind who doesn’t need accolades to be great. He didn’t even play that position in high school and was actually going to Auburn on a track scholarship until Dabo’s last minute call. He earned a scholarship later in his Clemson career and never let us down with his perfect snaps. Plus he made some great tackles and a couple of fumble recoveries as well! I am biased since I know him personally and he is an equally great young man off the field!

Absolutely! FB is a team sport, and long snapping is a critical part of the game. Lots of pressure on the LS.

I'm glad for the rule change that prohibits teeing off on the Long Snapper by the DL. It really never impacted the snap because the ball was already away it was just punishing a defenseless player.

Kind of a misleading article and there’s really no such thing as a 5 star snapper.

Give the kid the rope of being a 5 star snapper, it cost nothing but encourages our 5 star snapper to continue to work to be great at Clemson & the NFL!

In recruiting, 5-star means "expected First Round Draft Pick," so it is more fair to say that Rubio Long Snapping is misusing the term.

Yeah this article is fine, but the title is clickbait slop

Nothing wrong with celebrating a kid who is putting in the work to be a great player at long snapper. But to act like he is some highly coveted 5 star recruit is disingenuous.
