For the BB program downers regardless of what's going on as long as Brownell is the coach, give it a break. I to have been calling for Brownell's firing at Clemson for the last few years bc he has had 13 years of mostly mediocre Basketball year in and year out, and IMO, 13 years is to long for a university like Clemson with a fan base that has always been proud to be a Tiger fan.
I will say that with the transfers he's been able to bring in for next season along with what he has coming back, I'm excited again about what this roster should be capable of doing this coming season, and if Brownell can't win and win big time with this roster, all Tiger fans should boycott the program until he is fired, but, at least with the weapons he'll have next we should relax and wait and see bc there is a strong possibility that next season could be special and personally I intend to chill with calling for his head until I see what next season is going to be like for our BB program.
I do believe that with PJ Hall and Girard along with the young players that was coming along to being really good players for our team last season, and with their gained experience returning for next season I'm feeling that next season team will be a team that will make it really hard for the elites we play every year really tuff for them to get the easy wins over our guys the way they have in the past.
With the addition of Jack Clark, Bas Leyte, and Girard seems to be a really good assortment of players that can help our BB team to finally make a splash into the NCAA tournament next season, and I'll be OK with Brownell for at least the end of next season. It's looking to be set up for the best season we've seen in a very long time at Clemson with Brownell or Oliver Purnell... Go Tiger Basketball!!!

So Joe thinks they can make a deep run with this head coach we have. Well at least he is thinking positively.

It has happened before.
If he's bringing the attitude of "I wanna go to the big dance and make a deep run" -- sign me up.
Idc what folks think about the coach but I love the attitude this kid is bringing and hope it rubs off on the teammates in the off-season.

It’s just silly. Missed the tourney the last two years playing for a Hall of Famer at one of the most prestigious programs in the history of college basketball. But Brownell is gonna be the guy to cross the finish line.

Not only that, only made the tourney twice with his recruits. The first two were inherited players. One common theme with this team is Brownell and his inability to compete when the chips are down. Sure, he gets lucky from time to time. More often than not, he can’t make the layups. Any faith in Brad Brownell fulfills Einstein’s definition of insanity. Such wasted talent under his tenure. We’ve had teams that could have made the final four. Including last seasons lineup. BB couldn’t get out of his own way. He doesn’t use timeouts to slow momentum. He runs out player combos that make no sense. He sits the hot hand. It’s so painful to watch. Even if Brownell magically wins it all, he will never have my support. I have stopped attending basketball games and have threatened to pull all Iptay donations until he is replaced. That wouldn’t be fair to the other sports those $ go to. SMH. This kid is an elite transfer. Is he better than Hunter Tyson was? No. Are the transfers impact players? No. Will Clemson succeed in mens hoops with BB coaching? NO!!!

I have long thought it was time to reevaluate whether Jennings and D. Booker were really busts or simply unable to develop while being coached by a sack of wet blankets.

Wow, you are insulting our players intelligence.
Do you ever feel upset that our current players, former players, a AD, boosters and others have a complete opposite opinion of brownell than you do?
Girard has played against brownell, and played in the ACC for 4 years. I think he knows a little more about basketball than you do.

maybe, just maybe, the clemson basketball program is not viewed at by the basketball universe as the very vocal minority seems to see it. certainly not perfect and everyone knows the tourney is a must but the pure vitriol shown against coach brownell is not healthy for anyone.

Girard is a perfect addition. Having a second ball-handler on the court is going to take a lot of pressure off Chase Hunter — who is not a true point guard but did an admirable job handling that role last season — and give the team a more effective and varied offense with two guys back there who have good handles and can score. People ##### about last year’s team, but go back to preseason expectations and they definitely exceeded them. This group’s expectations should be much higher: top 25 and sweet 16. They’ve got the pieces to make it happen.

What does he know??? How did he come to this premonition??? Is it something that he has seen??? Is there more like his kind??? What tournament is this...that he speaketh of??? What are his powers???
A deep journey such as what he speaks can absolutely shift the very landscape of the college basketball world. Could we be truly worthy of such a journey??? Do we indeed have what it takes to harness that kind of power???

With luck with injuries, this can be the best offensive team we have had in years.

With the transfers and a 14th your head coach, I do think we can make the second round of the NIT next year.
