over commit, box Travis in, be sure to wrap and bring the leather. Make sure Travis and the rest of the offense remembers you were there.

As always. whichever team's lines do the best job in controlling the line of scrimmage will win. Our series started out with one sided games in their favor, became great matchups, swung back and forth to where we have dominated. This will be an old fashioned Clemson-FSU matchup that will be a factor in how the next few years go.

I disagree! On the contrary, our program-built offensive and defensive lines will have their way with the FSU one year wonder lines which are being built with three transfers on each one of their lines!!!!

How are you so sure it’s a one hit wonder? You know how they train, coach and who is on the roster? The portal can be a great stop gap for a young team that’s building and a year or two away? If they’re doing that well recruiting from the portal who’s to say they wouldn’t do it again the following year. Being blissfully biased is just plain ignorance. FSU was in such bad shape much like when Swinney took over. This wasn’t going to be an immediate turn around but the coach is a proven winner with a record of success. FSU is going to continue to get better but I’m sure this post will get all kinds of hate. Within ten minutes one of you dolts will call me a coot followed by an insult about NJ? So we’re clear I am an alum. I earned two bachelors degrees one in microbiology and one in bio chemistry and I also earned my PhD in chemistry. Most likely I was a lab teacher for a lot of you insulting me. That was back when you could voice an opinion without being attacked.

I’m looking forward to what XT does playing more than 6 snaps. It could get ugly fast. He’s on a mission to show the NFL what he has in a short amount of time. They may need to triple team him to keep him off their QB. If they do that then fsu may have negative yards rushing because the rest of the D-line will expose that line.

That is a reasonable game plan.

But, here is the rest of the story.

Travis has 158 yards rushing this year, but 71 of those are on one play. He has done a much better job looking to throw the ball when he scrambles rather than tucking and running. But, most fans expect him to have to be more of a running threat this week than the rest if the year.

Ward is our leading rusher. He is injured and not expected to play. We have two other good running backs, so his loss will hurt, but not as much as injuries to other players would.

Our best OL, Robert Scott, has been injured. He is expected to play but is not at 100%. He plays OT. The other OT is substituting for a tackle who is injured and out for the season. He has looked anything but impressive this year. His backup is a true freshman who has great potential but has played virtually none this year.

Therefore I expect the Clemson D to rush 4 and try to contain Travis with those 4. I can see one LB being a spy on Travis. I also expect Goodwin to blitz quite often. It is easier to contain Travis if 5 guys are rushing rather than 4.

I would imagine the game plan is:
1. Take away the run and make FSU one dimensional.
2. Pressure Travis and make him make a quick decision.
3. Have good lane discipline in the rush and don't let him break the pocket.

On the other side for FSU, here are their strengths on offense:
1. The OL has been average to good on pass protection. (But, they ain't seen nothing like Clemson so far.)
2. Norvell is very creative in the run game. He seems to be able to use formations and motion to get mismatches and get runners outside into space.
3. The WRs are MUCH, MUCH better than last year. If Travis will play like he has played all year (except for the 2nd half against NCSU) he will make the right reads and make the right decisions. He will use his athleticism to extend plays. The WRs will make plays. They are capable of catching the 50/50 balls and also finding holes in the zone. The TE's can also catch the ball and find open areas.

4. If the OL can hold its own then the Noles will move the ball. The problem is if the Clemson DL can dominate the Nole OL and shut off the run, giving them the ability to tee off at the snap and head to the QB, it could be a long night for FSU.
5. I know of no Nole fan who expects the OL to break even with the Clemson DL, much less win the battles. We are hoping for a creative game plan that out schemes the defense and somehow gets the ball to athletes in space. We are hoping that Travis can break a couple of long runs as well as scramble and get some first downs to keep drives alive. He can't throw interceptions.
