I am closing on my home on the 24th and Id like to fence in the backyard. The backayrd is .15 acres and I am look at about 285 LF of fence.
Can I get a quote on that?
Im about to go take a massive @tdrake so I can clear my stomach for lunch, but if you could get back to me before 11:30am EST, thatd be great.

Hey! I'm here to help!
Hiring someone to build your fence is going to be super expensive. The best course of action is doing it yourself and asking your kind neighbors if they would be willing to split the cost 50/50 if you do the work. I recently had a neighbor get quoted nearly $10,000 for probably no more than 400lf of fence.
Depending on the fencing style, you can build appx 150lf of 6' pine doge ear privacy fence for ~$1000 worth of material

of 6' privacy fence and built it myself, including gates for right around $3k. Do recommend renting an auger though. Of course it took me over a year to finish mine whereas that company would have had it done it like 3 days.

If its sandy soil post hold diggers will do fine but I agree on the auger for tons of posts. 280' is at least 35-40 posts.
If you rent an auger make sure it is a TWO person auger. If you hit a root on a 1 man auger say bye bye to ever having kids.

per the commercial quote I got a couple weeks ago. I thought the price was good, but my boss is heading a different direction (paying more for something that will not look as nice)
